Apparently doesn't give a rat's ass if he upsets players

You’re right, Eustace has had a bigger budget, but I’m not sure they’re all his choices or about the wisdom of loanees. Bobby Clark, for instance, appears to have been a disappointment who altered and offered absolutely nothing yesterday imo. Now, if the rumours are true and he’s off on a big money move to Celtic in January, how much commitment are we likely to get from him over the next two and a half months knowing that a potential injury will jeopardise that move?
I certainly pointed out to you that Warne was basically having to pick up available bargains, especially in L1 and even when promoted, hadn't the cash for a decent striker, Eustace has bought in 2 for a round £12 million!! I don't think until the last Jan window Warne spent that on all the players he signed. So one would have to say he made a pretty decent fist of things, considering.

Not that I'm calling for Eustace to go, one only has to look at Sheff Utd and Norwich to realise that signing good players and creating a good performing team are two different things.

I expect Eustace will get things sorted but at the moment its not going well.

All water under the bridge, Swale. Agree entirely with your last sentence. The changes he brought to a serial set of losers last season inspires confidence, but, like everyone else, I just wish he’d get a move on this season.

Crumb of comfort #36…30 years ago (!!) it took until the 11th November, under Jim Smith, for us to start looking like a team. Until then it felt very much like it does now.

Whilst I see where you are coming from rA may I suggest that Jim's squad was a cut above the current one. Yes the arrival of Igor kicked started our season but I see no VDL, Willems, Carsley, Sturridge, Gabbiadini, Powell, Simpson, Trollope etal!
Even Igor would struggle with this lot though he might kick a few arses which would provide some relief!

I know and I did say it was a ‘crumb of comfort’. Certainly hard to imagine this side going up, but we’ve still to see Langas and Beck this season. Sometimes just one or two additions make all the difference. The year before last it was Adams. Last season, imo, Langas.

We can live in hope, let's be fair some sods gonna have to make a difference.
I know I don't see live games anymore😞 and have to rely on TV but I can't quite work out where Eustace is coming from so far this season. To me some of the players look confused what their job is and this contributes to the problems MA has highlighted. I don't see a powerful dominant leader both cajoling and guiding, I don't see quality, energy, workrate or basic plain desire from some of the current incumbents to prove they deserve to wear the shirt.
If Langas and Beck or ano can change that then great but I won't hold my breath!

It was November before Billy Davies team kicked into gear. The home win (Oakleys stunner) against West Brom being the Catalyst.

How would we compare today's squad with that one? It wasn't a great squad but results were ground out.

We have time for a reasonable season still.
