The Treasurer of the Forfar Dark Blues told me Nelms was not happy about the name of the proposed guest speaker for the DSA Player of the Year dinner in May 2025 and she had heard that Nelms had threatened to ban the players from attending the dinner.
I do not understand why John Nelms was complaining as he was not present at the dinner despite being listed in the Order of Presentation which stated that John Nelms was giving a speech from 9.40pm to 9.50pm.
The 2025 Player of the year dinner was dragged out to allow for no guest speaker and it was a pale shadow of previous DSA Player of the Year dinners.
The secretary of the DSA should be explaining who was the proposed guest speaker for the DSA Player of the Year dinner in May 2025 and why there was no guest speaker at the dinner.

I would take back the fiver for my ticket and the fiver for my wife’s ticket.
Today I came across the card sitting at every seat at the DSA Player of the Year dinner held on Sunday 18th May 2025 which stated that the guest speaker was Jimmy Nicholl.
Jimmy Nicholl never appeared at the dinner and he was never mentioned in the order of proceedings in the programme issued to every person attending the dinner.
The DSA committee members should know who was originally scheduled to be the guest speaker at their Player of the Year dinner on 18th May 2025 until John Nelms interfered.
