Governments - all four - made an erse of it from the start.

Well, you could knock me down with a feather, really didn't see that coming. Maybe next time a couple of regular posters on here should be consulted rather than self serving dentists and politicians? You know, people with a bit of common sense and a decent grasp of reality.

Need to be on our guard, in case the hard left take a leaf out of the far right and acting undemocratically by bypassing discussion and debate in Parliament. It was talking that changed the approach to lockdowns, not executive edicts.

My view that most people had a wee bit of common sense died at that time.

And they said if they acted sooner we cud have avoided lockdown......what put us AHH in a coma for a year.

Bull**** we shuda just carried on with the elderly shielding.

The madness we will pay for for generations to come plus we will do it all again the next plague the Chinese unleash.

This is the problem of having incompetent politicians at Westminster and Holyrood being told what to say by their top civil servants and special advisors who are pushing their own political agendas.
Meanwhile the U.K. and Scottish public are paying the price of these top civil servants and special advisors pushing their own agendas.

The report said, it was an impossible situation. Scientists thought that intubation and assisting breathing was the answer. It wasn't.
How did Sweden get on? It would be interesting if the scientists could do a comparison of the outcome for Scotland and Sweden.

Need to prepare a plan that does not include lockdowns and much better scientific ways to identify the cause and produce vaccines.

                Lowest excess deaths in Europe.

I give up on this, idiots still believe lockdown was the way to go.

Stole time off of people that you can't get back.

How was India, Pakistan and the Philippines not wiped out with COVID?

Answer it wasn't that dangerous to reasonably healthy people.....even if you do live in a slum.

Biggest con job the world has ever seen.

Makes climate change seem 100% true.

It would not bother me 1 iota if I was the omega man after next "plague".....Charlton Heston like taking oot Zombified dabs Fae the boundary of the south Angus estate......perfectly happy with no idiots in the world.

                  Rant over.

Boris and the Tories get rightly criticised along with all the devolved governments. Remember though that Boris and Co. at the very outset were for going for herd immunity i.e. no lockdowns, let the virus take its course etc. He was talked out of it by the scientists, some of his own party and the opposition. Wonder where we would have been today if he had stuck to his guns?

I have a total disdain of ALL politicians but in regard to Covid I have a small element of sympathy for most of them. It was something totally new to them and they were getting conflicting views from medical scientists, economists, opposition parties ( who didn't have to make the hard decisions and who could simply criticise and carp away from the sidelines) etc. They were like rabbits in the headlights and mistakes were made. It seems that the politicians are the ones who are taking the brunt of the enquiry's criticism not the scientists who were all over the place at times and changed tack over the course of time more than once. The opposition parties and the media also called for this and that and influenced matters and public opinion and are, imo, worthy of censure.

Finally there is our Nicola, the one politician who I do not include in my mild appreciation of the difficulties that politicians suffered. No other politician, imo, used the epidemic to nakedly promote themself or their political ends as she did. She invented discord with the UK government to serve her own needs and milked the misery of the populace to promote her obsession with independence. She sickened me then and still now as she tries to rewrite history. The most sickening thing was speaking to folk at the time who thought Saint Nicola was our saviour. This was reflected in the wider Scottish population and media, UK population and media and it is to be hoped that the criticism of her in the report thoroughly debunks all the hype around her performance at the time and that she is seen to be properly found out!

Sturgeon was without a doubt the one that irked me most. I really hated her daily procession to the dias where she would preach how the UK governmet were too slow and not doing enough then deliberately just doing a little more to pi55 us all off. All the while making out she was our saviour. Then anouncing numbers of deaths the previous day with covid, not because of covid but with a covid diagnosis in the 28 days before they passed away. regardless of the actual cause of death it was counted as a covid death - scandalous lies. Mind you she did make me laugh out loud when she said we couldn't cross from one council area into the next - like covid was delineated by council borders. Worse was all the morons that believed it was the right thing to do. Meanwhile (according to her) I could quite happily leave my house, get on a bus with twenty others and go to Dundee City centre but I couldn't leave my house and walk the half mile or so into the open Angus countryside.

Oh and that ridiculous 'scientist' Leitch who without a doubt tried to make himself appear the most important person in the whole affair - until he realised what a total cluster***k they'd made of it then he shut up and completely disappeared. The word C U N T is the only one I can think of for him.

Anyway, have a good weekend everybody and here's hoping Hibs go easy on our idiot manager and his assemblage of not quite good enough players playing to his unfathomable tactics.

Cowan and Cosgrove wrote and sang a song live on air in praise of her ( Nicola ) circa December 2020.......vomit inducing ****e......and the dentist was a weekly guest on off the ball.....that's how bad the propaganda got.

I have absolutely no doubt they will do it all again next time.

Save granny, save the NHS, vaccine passports, masks, social distance signs, one way systems in pubs, supermarkets and streets, 10 mins a day exercise, no crossing county lines,......just ****e ****e and more ****e .....and the majority of people loved it. 🙄

Vast majority toed the line(myself included, had 1 vaccine)
Only a very small minority fought against the masses by no taking vaccine and getting lifted for no following nonsensical rules. It really needed either a)a country we a forward thinking leader or b) a population brave enough to fight against it.
Unfortunately like most in the world we have none of the above.
Watched a documentary few weeks ago about preparing for the next one.
