Where we rate

Scanning the various sites the majority opinion seems to be if we can't beat livvy that's it.

Got me thinking on where we rate ourselves compared to where the manager rates us and the rest of Scottish football.

I always see us as a club that shud be pushing and having aspirations for fabled top 6 but not getting there far more times than we do

At the other end I see us as a club that shouldn't go down....we do more than we should....but safety as such isn't really confirmed until last 3 or 4 games of the season is the norm.

I think our manager and the rest of Scottish football see us as very much the 2nd category.

I don't get where this 7/9 pts, can't beat livvy away that's it coms from.......it certainly dosent have any stats in the last 2 or 3 decades to back that up.

The way the club is run and performance on the pitch has to be separated or it will drive folk round the bend.

If the club was run in a better way I believe more fans would give the manager and team a bit more leeway but they don't because it's run abysmally.

Nelms can't do everything, but that is his lot. It seems like FPS can't understand that property development is a different skills etc from running a football team. More effort on the football side is needed imo.

I was trying to think back when I believe they stopped engaging with fans.....if my memory is right it was fairly quickly after they gained control.

They have had a cple of half hearted attempts at a reset then just took DSA into the Nelmsy bosom and that was it.

I hope they don't change manager before end of season.....I know this will effect crowds and season tic sales but I think we will more than likely go down if they punt him.

Exactly, change of mind buying Dens, poor relationship with original D4L.
Seems odd thinking that keeping Elvis might be the best course.

For around ten years I think the general outlook of the masses has been that as long as JN is able to sort out his tab he can continue to make a mess of things, do whatever he pleases and remain unaccountable to anyone.
I think people are realising that there is potentially irreparable damage being done to an extent that for the good of the club, its supporters and the clubs owners something has to change. During that time around ten million pounds has been wasted with very little to show for it, the five biggest clubs in Scotland have been totally transformed, the lot down the road are I would say streets ahead of Dundee on so many fronts, Motherwell are flying high in the league, Falkirk are holding their own whilst growing their fanbase and St Mirren have a cup final to look forward to.
Premier League survival has got to be their main objective on the park, off it they have got have a healthier relationship with the core support before trying to sell season tickets.
Fair to say they cannot afford to miss either of these targets ?

I reckon we have lost 2500 to 3000 fans from the peak attendances when nelms and co have been here.

I don't think this will fully show in official attendances until next season.

I do think a number of those circa 3000are lost for good then you have boys like me who may come back at sometime.

Then there's also huge discontent among those still attending.

Nelms needs shifted out the way and someone who can build bridges rather than do his best impression of Bridge over the river kwai

Right now Dundee FC does not rate as a Premiership club. It's been dragged down to a mid table Championship level by the current owners - at least they'll be proud whilst we just can't be.

From memory I think that they stopped engaging with the Dundee FC supporters after Bill Colvin resigned as Chairman of Dundee Football Club Limited and a partner of FPS in June 2015.
