Wealth Tax being applied by Rachel Reeves. Andrew Neil had an article that pretty much demolished the idea and listed all the countries that had given up on the concept, but a Financial Trader, Gary Stevenson, has a whole load of You Tube comments saying that it is inevitable that UK will have to apply one. The really rich get richer and those who rely on wages and salaries just struggle.

Don't know how to post a You Tube link but Google Gary Stevenson and he pops up.

Thought this might be a cheery alternative to new signings, John Nelms etc!!

Can't see it myself but needs might dictate. It would be a complete waste of time for a start it will never ever be enough, people will never be satisfied with what they receive.

That guy Stevenson looks like and sounds like a govt plant.

      Knew about him before.

It's over B cram.....I do not see anyway to stop this country's complete collapse apart from aggressively defending the South coast and mass deportation.

I cannot see a Wealth Tax being introduced.
Thanks to Rachael Reeves changing the rules for Non Dons the wealthy people in the U.K. are leaving in their droves.
In my opinion Rachael Reeves made a cardinal error trying to fix the government deficit in one financial year instead of doing it through the five years term of this Parliament.
However most of the Labour Government ministers have no previous experience of government so they are making huge mistakes and being ‘found out’.
The Labour Government Homeless Minister having to resign as a result of saying “Do as I say, not as I do”.

I am not so sure. Maybe if the Scots turned on the Greens and the Nats, binned Net Zero, and went drill baby drill, we could create wealth producing jobs.
It is a pity the originator of the slogan has such a dreadful public image, but in my view, he is right.
We should not be buying energy creating facilities from countries that are using the very same energy sources that we are shutting down, to create these renewable resources. It is madness and will create much more carbon than if we just used our own oil and gas and even coal.

It needs a reset rather than a battle between the left and right.

Grangemouth would never have closed down if Sturgeon had allowed them to frack but Nippy along with the Useless and anti business Greens banned them from doing so.
It serves the SNP and Greens right that Ineos have shut down Grangemouth.

People have lost their livelihoods and you're happy to point score and gloat about it?

Islay, I think you are missing the point. The people who have suffered are the Ineos employees. Your post reads as though the SNP and Greem supporters have suffered the pain.

I think we need a rethink about our approach to how we use our natural resources. The renewable mantra is not being challenged in any thoughtful way.

There will be more carbon created because we are buying our wind turbines from afar, and made using coal, and gas, plus the fuel to transport them. Shouting about the Greens and their wrong headed policies won't change anything. Pointing out how much more effectively we could use our own natural resources, and showing the benefit of actual wealth creating use of our factors of production might be a way to win the argument and get this crazy dash for net zero stopped.
