The French were hopeless at stopping the Germans invading their country in the Second World War so there is little chance of them stopping illegal immigrants sailing across the English Channel to the U.K.
Asylum seekers should apply for asylum in the first country they arrive in not travel through Europe looking to claim asylum in the country offering the best deal for asylum seekers.
People arriving illegally in the U.K. should be immediately sent back to their own country and told to apply for asylum in the U.K. through the correct official channels.

I think we need to stop lawyers making money from refugees. Civil servants could set conditions for acceptance. First rule, which country did you first arrive in. Send them back to first country of safety.
Immigrants should need all paperwork completed before they emigrate. Just see how Aussie borders are policed. Past convictions, not allowed in, no money to finance stay, rovokes serious concern that they are here to work, illegally, not allowed in.
It isn't difficult, we just need to apply our laws, and perhaps withdraw from European Human Rights Legislation.
