I do know that Dundee City Council, knocked back the Mearns Group application, to turn the Old Mill Student accommodation in to asylum accommodation, aleast they have got one thing right, for a change

Dosent take a genius to work out certain areas of Dundee's demographics are changing though.....very noticeable.

It was stated on last night?s BBC Reporting Scotland news that there has been a huge increase in asylum seekers who have been given permission to stay in the U.K. with refugee status arriving in Glasgow to demand housing.
Thanks to the Scottish Government anyone arriving in Scotland with refugee status can demand housing from any local authority in Scotland who are duty bound to provide them with accommodation.
They are often put in bed and breakfast accommodation until a suitable council house or housing association property becomes available.
The rules are different for England and a lot tighter.

We are letting over a million immigrants a year in legally, I would say most new arrivals in Dundee are here legally
There are people with power and influence who want these people in , despite what all the politicians say , someone wants them to come here , the average guy on the street doesn't want it , so who do you think wants them ?
As for the illegals, I doubt stopping them on the shores of France will ever work , too late by then , if someone travels from say Afghanistan, nothing is going to stop them getting over the channel
Imo we need to tighten up the laws around the gig economy, that's why most want to come here

About 15 years ago David Cameron pledged to get it down to tens of thousands each year,look where we are now and these numbers are now apparently acceptable

We are definitely getting conned , the country is getting flooded , with cheap labour, happy to do low paid work , topped up by the tax payer , but the question is , who benefits the most ? , not the taxpayer that's for sure

Perth admitted through a FOI request that they have another 3 hotels full of illegal immigrants, that fact had to be dragged from them through the FOI request and they wonder why folk have concerns about the whole thing. Can't see the problem. If you feel strongly enough about something going on in your country that you want to protest against it does it really matter where you protest it? Everyone has the right to protest after all - don't they? Just because this hotel is in Perth it doesn't mean someone from anywhere else in the country be it Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh or even Southampton can't attend the protest and make their voice heard and presence felt.

Going by the illegal migrant hotel protests that have been held recently in other areas of the UK it tends to be the leftist counter protesters that are bussed in rather than the concerned UK residents. They cause trouble which is then, of course, blamed on the far right even when nobody from the far right is anywhere near it.

I saw one of the Perth counter protesters being interviewed on the TV (English accent and by Eric Drysdale's method of working these things out it felt like he wasn't local to Perth) and he reckoned we should welcome any immigrant into the country that's looking to work and contribute. In all honesty I don't disagree with that unfortunately however the reality is that most of these illegals are not here to contribute they're here to sponge off the state (our state) and live the life at our expense.

I also heard over the weekend that some people are now trying to ban the flying of the St. George Cross in England as it's seen as a symbol of far right racism - couldn't make it up. It seems to be OK to fly the flag of a foreign make believe nation in public but don't you dare fly your own country's flag.
