But I absolutely cringe at some of.....Ney vast majority of Scotland "fans".

I used the term fans loosely as most of them seem to be no really interested in football just being a Scotty MCScottiness caricature......some of the worst are woman or men over 60.

Food banks will be busy when they get back.....no doubt 😄

I think the England hooligan thing abroad has pretty much disappeared ( still get a riot in Colchester, Cheltenham or Chester if they lose on the big screen ) but actual fans who go much more into the actual results and football, Welsh the same....don't know about Ireland.

It looks to me that the "tartan army" are the tournament jesters before returning to dreary lives blaming everything on everyone else.

    Tartan fatigue

I’ve held this same view for years, and it hasn’t softened with time — the whole “Tartan Army” image has, quite simply, become deeply cringeworthy.

I’ve said elsewhere (and taken the usual flak for it) that this has become to a national embarrassment. The dressing up, the exaggerated caricatures of Scottish identity, and things like “Doe a Deer” might pass as light-hearted to some, but to me it feels increasingly out of step — particularly for adults who really should be much more responsible.

Perhaps it plays well abroad — the novelty factor clearly lands with overseas audiences — but that doesn’t necessarily make it any less uncomfortable to watch from a home perspective.

I LL augh when I think of all these foreigners thinking Scotland is party central after being culturally enriched from the "tartan army" and then when they get here thinking wtf is this ****.

A travelling circus but peek behind the curtain it's a miserable, badly run chip on the shoulder country that rewards and encourages grievance and jumps on folk who " get above themselves "

        P.s.

White Men should really be banned from dancing after the age of 40......exception for John travolta.

Went to Germany and had a ball, like every fitba support they have some dafties and the anti English stuff is pathetic.
Saying that in today's times in a world totally ****ed up and division all over the place fowk going to a fitba tournament and enjoy themselves is fine by me.The host countries usually love the Scots so they must be doing something right.
