Nelms has recently stated that the £95 million cost of the new stadium development will be paid by a 100 years mortgage.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostI wouldn't believe either figure, he lies out of habit
I have never ever heard of any financial institutions issuing a 100 years mortgage secured over a commercial property.
According to the internet commercial loans are normally between 3 years and 25 years in length.

Nelmsy told the DSA committee members when they had their meeting with him on Thursday 29th August 2024, two days before the DSA AGM that there were no transport problems with the new stadium.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostGot my FOI request back re stadium today.
Council say they still do not have all the info requested.
Dosent say what info they require but someone ain't being truthful as DSA and Nelmsy saying all the info requested has been given.
Anybody?
Nelmsy has obviously not driven his car down the A90 Kingsway through the traffic lights at the Myrekirk roundabout to get back up the Kingsway to his new stadium.
Then he might change his tune about there being no transport problems regarding his new stadium.

I've never encountered a problem at the traffic lights at Kingsway / Myrekirk Road and I drive through them fairly regularly. The lights are well sequenced and traffic flows freely.Originally posted by islaydarkblue View PostNelmsy told the DSA committee members when they had their meeting with him on Thursday 29th August 2024, two days before the DSA AGM that there were no transport problems with the new stadium.

Get yourself sorted out, you're trying too hard to find faults where none exist.

Deeranged any idea why council are saying one thing and Nelmsy ( thru various 3rd parties ) another.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostI've never encountered a problem at the traffic lights at Kingsway / Myrekirk Road and I drive through them fairly regularly. Yesterday morning I drove down to ASDA Myrekirk and I had to negotiate the traffic lights on the Myrekirk roundabout.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostI've never encountered a problem at the traffic lights at Kingsway / Myrekirk Road and I drive through them fairly regularly. When the lights turn to green for vehicles travelling West only about five cars heading for ASDA can drive into the right lane as the traffic lights are sitting at red due to all the traffic travelling from the west through the traffic lights up the A90 Kingsway towards Campy Nou. Eventually these traffic lights turn to green but nowhere as many cars heading for ASDA and Gourdie Brae get through the traffic lights compared to traffic travelling from the West through the traffic lights at the Myrekirk roundabout on the A90 Kingsway.
It will not be my problem as the day Dundee FC play their last home game at Dens Park will be the last time that I attend a Dundee FC home game.

In my opinion Nelmsy is dragging things along as it keeps him in the spotlight.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostDeeranged any idea why council are saying one thing and Nelmsy ( thru various 3rd parties ) another.
Unfortunately the local newspaper reporters are frightened to ask Nelmsy why he will not supply all the information requested by the Dundee City Council planners as they would probably no longer be welcome in Gardyne and Dens Park.

You do understand that there's the option to alter traffic light sequencing to allow increased flow in particular directions at particular times? They're all electronically managed these days.Originally posted by islaydarkblue View PostYesterday morning I drove down to ASDA Myrekirk and I had to negotiate the traffic lights on the Myrekirk roundabout.

How many cars / buses do you actually think will be using that route given that the proposed car park would hold around 350 total?

Just so I understand, if you come down from Broughty Ferry do you have to use the Myrekirk Roundabout to go back up the Kingsway to access the new stadium? In fact is that not the point that all traffic trying to get into the Stadium will have to use the Myrekirk Roundabout. As I say, I don't know. Sequencing of traffic flows seems to work but there are times of high demand when even that can't keep the traffic flowing, at least that's been my experience.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostYou do understand that there's the option to alter traffic light sequencing to allow increased flow in particular directions at particular times? I find that attitude really sad and illogical. Does your hatred of JN overtake all other thoughts about the new stadium. I have made my position clear. I would rather remain at Dens but accept that this is not financially viable to our owners. In saying that I also reckon it is only 50:50 that the stadium will go ahead with planning delays, increased costs and the opposition of some of the council, the Civic Trust and a number of like minded supporters as yourself. What happens if it doesn't go ahead I don't know? Let's talk theoretically, however. Let's assume the stadium goes ahead and is successful financially and this rubs off on the team which is successful on the park. In those, arguably possible, circumstances would you still stand by your threat to never attend a home game again? Would your hatred of JN allow you to attend away games, would you become one of the ranks of 'supporter' who never attends a game of would you turn your back on your team for good? I still think your hatred of JN is all consuming and clouds totally your thoughts about the new stadium and the future of the club.Originally posted by islaydarkblue View PostIt will not be my problem as the day Dundee FC play their last home game at Dens Park will be the last time that I attend a Dundee FC home game.
Finally, and again theoretically speaking, if the Americans sold up club, Dens and Camperdown and some other party wanted to progress similar plans would you still be so vehemently opposed?
