It seems wrong to expect the stadium to be part of some strategy that relies on it not being built. It seems wrong to think that the owners are working to look after their own financial interests and it seems wrong to think that what is good for our owners will be bad for DFC.

The training centre at Riverside makes sense and if it is based on Community involvement surely there will be some kind of funding to help run it.

I was told about a year ago that the council offered the site to Dundee FC as there preference.
The recent article seems to confirm that.
DCC making a **** of something is well within their capabilities tho so probably means nothing re any future planning permission.

If it were up to the planning dept I think it wud go thru.....I think Dundee has some very shady and biased councillors though.....and it will be them that vote.....at first anyway.

The Camperdown site was owned by Vico Camperdown Limited who sold it to Tim Keyes on behalf of Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited on 8th July 2016.
The site had nothing to do with Dundee City Council.

I never once said it did,I was told out of the various sites the club looked at the council "advised" camperdown.
They may not own it but they provide planning permission.

I'm sceptical like most.

Pains me to do this but Islay's right - you wrote 'offered' not 'advised'.

Having said that I believe you're correct that the council pointed the club toward the site as a preference. I'm also highly sceptical on this whole stadium thing and also hope it happens at some point - still can't see it happening in my lifetime though.
