According to posts on TDB the Dundee City Council planning department are still waiting for answers to questions they have submitted months ago to John Nelms.
If correct then this is typical John Nelms who barricades himself in his bunker at Gardyne until people give up and go away.

    • I contacted my local councillor after the September meeting announcement, and she got back to me saying that we had not supplied what planning considered to be an adequate solution to something or other. Yesterday on social media, think it might have been one of the Dundee fan groups on Facebook, a guy related his similar experience as a result of this latest delay announcement. So the Nelms team is considered by planning not to be complying with their wishes. The road to nowhere. My own view is that I cant see them spending all of this money on a bluff, but it hasn't got any closer, it would appear. Incompetence ,naivety, arrogance? Who does that sound like? Or is that me?

I think the doomsday clock on the doomsday scenario of moving to tannadice ticks ever closer with every delay.

There's no plan b......so it will be plan z

        • Correct, no plan B, no groundshare, just new stadium project. No certainty that if planning permission is granted, that the stadium will be built, imo.

Absolutely no certainty until, and if ever, a Dundee FC side actually kicks a ball in a new stadium. Until then it continues to be a pipe dream.

            • I think we are in the realms of no new stadium, no DFC as well know it....as we will lose a helluva lot of regulars playing at tannadice.

It's why I think a new stadium is the best worse case scenario.

Much prefer staying at Dens but it's a total rebuild job now it's been that neglected by the yanks.

And despite another delay, despite mounting sceptism.....not a word from Nelmsy.

              1. What are the council waiting on?

              2. Does Nelms intend to supply it?

              3. When?

2 mins of his time......George Cran, Steph Dab Daily ( he may have to travel to st Andrews ) or the Dee fan broadsheet writer......I'm sure all would make themselves available.

              • Over a year this thread has been live and in all honesty do the fans know anymore than we did a year ago?

                • Read the opening posts, quite right to say that we are not much further on. Having said that, we still seem to be trying hard to get this plan delivered. I used we, because maybe it isn't just John Nelms alone who is determined to build the new stadium.

As a plan B, refurbishment of Dens could be a staged development. We have already got a business plan that does not involve using the offices and facilities for training at Dens. Maybe developing SE with some basic hospo facilities as a start could be a way of keeping revenues ticking over. Mainstand could follow, and if their hospo facilities were a bit more plush, our club might be able to have a bar for fans in the SE, add a way to allow fans to move between bar and other stands and we might be working with a modern stadium based on out heritage.

That wouldn't involve the yanks though.....they have made that abundantly clear.....one of the few things they have made clear

                    • They have no plan B, so they are quite logical in denying any interest in restoring Dens.

In my opinion Nelms will not admit that he has made a mistake with his new stadium development but instead says nothing.

They will have to repay their loan from Soho Green secured against Dens Park before they start restoring Dens Park.
I am surprised that Cran from the Courier has not asked Nelms about the loans from Soho Green secured against the site of the Campy Nou development and Dens Park respectively and why they took them out.
The loan taken out against the site of the Campy Nou development is strange one for me as Tim Keyes purchased the site on 8th July 2016 for ?1,296,000 (one million, two hundred and ninety six thousand pounds).
Perhaps the money from this loan is being used to pay for the cost of the Computer aided design of the new stadium and the planning application.
It will be interesting to see if these loans are repaid or Soho Green will end up owning the site of the Campy Nou development and Dens Park.

In my opinion it is time for Tim Keyes to clearly explain his plans for the new stadium development at Campy Nou and why there has been no explanation from his fellow Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited Director John Nelms why he has not answered the questions submitted by the Dundee City Council planning officials to their satisfaction.
I am surprised that none of the Dundee FC supporters groups have not sent an email directly to Tim Keyes requesting this information.

Only Nelms has stated this. That has not been a cheep from Tim Keyes about no Plan B.

He won't answer any questions from Dee4Life at all and DSA won't ask questions unless John Nelms compiles it and says they can ask him.

He's engineered that situation quite well in all honesty. Control of the gullible is an excellent strategy.
