We have been paying a greatly inflated price for the gas and electricity standing charges to repay the debts of the bankrupt electricity and gas billing companies. 15% of the cost of our electricity and gas bills is handed over to pay for social tariffs and the cost of feed in tariffs for green energy schemes plus the cost of installing smart meters by electricity and gas billing companies whether these smart meters work or not.

I was doing some work for a couple on Tuesday who have built a large house near Kinross and have a heat pump, the first year they had the heating set at 25 and it cost them ?12K. Upon inspection the heat pump was found to have been fitted incorrectly by the builder and the the heating dropped to 21 and it's estimated to cost ?8-?9K this year.

Is 8 to 9k with it now fitted correctly?

              Ask a question.

The heat setting thingy I have in the hall.

Now and again it sets itself at 25......maybe once a month or so........dosent happen in summer just in winter.

              It's obviously a bit Basil.....common?

Dosent cause much problems as I notice it within minutes of temp rising but it's annoying as ****.

Some of the house is heated by underfloor heating and they said areas aren't working properly and they're waiting on a spare part, whether that means the 8-9K is artificially low or high I have no idea. I done some work for them the other day and I couldn't live in that heat, the sweat was running doon the shuck of my arse.

Is their home heated by an air source heat pump or a ground source heat pump.
