I'd say plenty do going by our attendances....but a lot of that will be a bitter and irrational hatred of Elvis....em no in that camp.Originally posted by BCram View PostThink it's helpful to have your point of view expressed. I wonder if there might be more who agree with you. It is a long time since I counted the number of vacant seats in the individual stands to try to find out what appears to be our season ticket holder numbers.
There also might be less grumpiness in the Mainer than in the SE or the Bobby Cox stands.
I am not sure that Celtic fan power was a great benefit to them in the early days of their Fergus McCann period, which is why I wish our Board would listen to the criticisms coming from forums.
It's just the whole feeling round the club for me.....away from the playing side.
I get some people it's all about the result at ten to 5.....either everything is coming up roses or we are Doon.
I look at the connection at other clubs, mwell, st m, Hibs.....dare I say st j and em a bit jealous.
Took a fair bit to stop me going and didn't intend to but I just felt not a lot inside Dens.
Hope Presley gets an even break from the support but have my doubts.
Really tough run of fixtures coming up.....our next two home games Celtic and Rangers is hardly enticing.
But a win someplace on the road would be most welcome. 🤞

I think the criticisms of our Board seem to be so negative that there might be an attitude that makes it seem pointless to reply. If your critics want you out, then I think never complain, never explain is a well understood way of dealing with these critics.
I think your points are much more nuanced, and should be addressed.
Something to encourage ST holders seems a good place to start, or wee deal for PATG, if you are an infrequent attender.

What about letting une.ployed people in for ?5, they couldn't afford the ludicrous price to get in . Better having several hundred dred unemployed people in for a fiver than no unemployed people paying ?30 or so. Got to be worth a try.Originally posted by BCram View PostI think the criticisms of our Board seem to be so negative that there might be an attitude that makes it seem pointless to reply. I agree with the sentiment but there would have to be some form of proof of unemployment and likely the tickets having to be bought in person. Just sticking a five pound unemployed ticket on the ticketing site is just asking for a fair percentage of the punters who would have paid full whack to opt for the fiver ticket or make it easier for the ones already 'cheating' the club by buying u18 and pensioner tickets that they are not entitled to.Originally posted by Piscean View PostWhat about letting une.ployed people in for ?5, they couldn't afford the ludicrous price to get in . If it can be done without these pitfalls then fair enough.

IÂ’d rather give a big discount to younger generation most likely on minimum wage, who get off their arse every morning and get into employment, thereÂ’s far too many people in this country that have no intention of working, or are playing the system, reward the young adults who are going out to work and are the future of the club, cause God we need some positivity in our fanbase.
As for game on Saturday, thought we were the better team for the majority of it, the hatred of Elvis amongst some of our support is laughable however, one criticism was him going to a back 3 on Saturday which never happened.
Luke Graham is never a left back, play him either at centre half or leave him out, Youganne was like playing with a man down at times especially defensively, my unsung hero was Drey Wright, thought he has been improving week by week, and never hides or goes missing.
Tough run coming up, but so do our two main relegation rivals.

The same unemployed people that can afford to smoke and drink? I know that's a very scatter gun statement but you get the drift.Originally posted by Piscean View PostWhat about letting une.ployed people in for ?5, they couldn't afford the ludicrous price to get in . Let younger people in for less and discard the over 65 nonsense - an adult's an adult after all.

It's difficult to organise discounted ticket sales, but perhaps using parts of the ground would be a starting point. Main Stand, the blocks beside the Shankly stand which are given over to the OF could be sold to our supporters to try to boost attendance. Might be age related incentives or Family related incentives targeted at games where we need good support against bottom 6 rivals. Apologies for the bottom 6 but it's difficult, at the moment, to see us needing our supporters as a 12th man against top 6 opposition.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostThe same unemployed people that can afford to smoke and drink? If Tim Keys was to change the CEO, that would make a difference,
NELMS incompetance has destroyed the club, we waited about eight weeks before we saw a manager,
PLus the fact, players we could have kept, TIFFONEY , PORTALES, SYLLA ETC.
I did not renew my season because of the shambles, havent been to a game this season and i have supported the Dees from the late fifty's.

Would need to be done as two game package

Thing is there aren't really many people who are "just unemployed"......it's no like the 80s.
Most folk who don't work are on elements of disability or sickness.
As I've said for 15 years we shud have been increasing OAP rate and decreasing under 25s
There's far more strapped young than pensioners.
Any discount will be abused, I've no paid an adult away ticket for years now.
This is honestly a 20 year job to get our regular support back up......I don't think the yanks have the Will, Vision or even give a **** for that time frame but that's what it's gonna take.
1st target should be a concerted effort to get back to 4,000 season ticket holders....that takes planning, foresight and Will but I think nelms couldn't care less if we played in front of 500.

I have no problems with my blood pressure.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostIslay seems to be even more bitter now than he ever has been - and by **** he's always been pretty bitter.
I hope he's on blood pressure tablets.
I have previously told my GP that you need a strong heart being a Dundee FC supporter as the Dundee FC players never do things the easy way.

You will change your tune when you officially become an OAP and qualify to receive the state pension.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostThing is there aren't really many people who are "just unemployed"......it's no like the 80s.

Regarding the former 4,000 season ticket holders.
The Dundee FC support is an aged support and it likely that a number of them have died or are suffering from ill health which prevents them attending home games at Dens Park.
