My wife has COPD but works. If she stops working because of the COPD can I claim attendance allowance despite also working?

Would she also be considered disabled and qualify for disability allowance?

It's irrelevant if she works or stops working.

If she is under state pension age she can claim Scottish Adult Disability.

There's a care component and a mobility component......you can receive one component or both components.

      Care lower rate ....?73.90
      Care higher rate....? 110.40

      Mobility lower rate ..? 29.20
      Mobility higher rate..? 77.05

If she is over state pension age she can claim Pension Age Disability ( Scotland's attendance allowance)

      There's only one component.

      Lower rate .....?73.90
      Higher rate.....? 110.40

This is currently what the Scottish Govt is currently advertising on the telly.

Your Mrs claim would be around 38 pages long......although I think this has been reduced in Scotland.

The claim isn't really linked to her COPD it's about how her COPD effects her daily life....ie there's not a list of illnesses or conditions that automatically qualify.

All of the above rates are weekly.

And it's why I keep banging on about the elderly getting into the match for less Dosh than a young adult.

All of the above is tax free.

Oh and ALL of the above would evaporate if the Scottish Govt had to pay for it.

That's all pretty scandalous to be fair.

She's too proud to claim any benefits but I'll maybe ask her to think about it. Get some of the money back that I've spent on fags for her over the years.

372,000 Scottish pensioners receive disability benefits, there's just over a million Scottish pensioners.

Where are you going to get these young supporters when the management of Dundee Football Club cannot resurrect the Junior Dark Blues.
We can do without ?supporters? like you.

Ar?eholes like you can?t wait for the team to fail.

Sit beside me and berate DFC and see where that gets you.

Bit harsh, imo, noahrab. In the post you highlighted he asks about resurrecting Junior Dark Blues. This seems to me to be a legitimate question for the DFC Board.

It was aimed at him, and others, who go to Dens and do f?ćk all but moan.

I go to support my team through thick and thin. We?re not always great but they would do well to remember we're DFC not PSG.

                    Fair reply.
Wish the folk that want to have a moan would pick only, on the blunders made by the opposition and the boys in black. Think of the positive benefits for all Dees. Moaning old gits become heroes by pointing out the inadequacies of the opposition and giving the ref and linesmen pelters is always worthwhile.

Moan your head off all game and actually get some positive feedback from those sitting around you.

Now that would be a have your cake and eat it day at Dens!

                      Good for you.
I attended Dundee FC home games in the 1960’s when the Dundee FC players played like PSG.
