  • Jamie McBrearty

According to the Companies House website Jamie McBrearty who was a founding director of the Dundee Academy CIC which commenced to a great fanfare on 28th July 2023 has resigned as a director on 28th July 2025. https://find-and-update.company-info...63813/officers
There has been no mention about his resignation on the Dundee FC website and I only found out about it on the Dee4life Facebook page which showed a photograph of the Dee Promotions Youth Draw which stated that last Saturday was McBrearty? last day in employment of Dundee FC.

          Quite possibly.
He has removed the information about him being a director of the Dundee FC Academy CIC Limited from his LinkedIn page.
On another note I think that Dundee Football Club have made a big mistake making their Academy Football part of the Dundee FC Academy Community Interest Company as it restricts the young players who can be signed.
Only young players who live in the local Dundee area can be signed which rules out signing young players as our stars of the future from the Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands of Scotland areas.
On the plus side the cost of running Dundee FC Academy CIC Limited is now listed in the notes to the Dundee Football Club Limited annual accounts for the year ending 31st May 2024.
From memory including sums due to be paid at 31st May 2024 it was about ?175,000.

It would be interesting to know who was instrumental in setting up the Dundee Academy Community Interest Company Limited.
Was it Jamie McBrearty or John Nelms.
Davie Craig, Chairman of the DSA could ask John Nelms when he (Craig) has his next meeting with Nelms.

When we don?t have scouts outside the Dundee area how would we pick up someone from Aberdeen

We should have scouts outside the Dundee area as we are currently competing with the Dabs, St Johnstone and the Angus clubs for young footballers who could be our stars of the future.

Last year I was speaking to a person who was a young footballer at Aberdeen Football Club’s Academy at Gardyne in Dundee.
In 2016 Aberdeen FC closed their Academy at Gardyne due to the cost. This person and another young footballer were given the opportunity to join the Aberdeen FC Academy in Aberdeen but he turned it down as he did not fancy travelling to Aberdeen every day for training.

Because I cannot attend enough home games to justify the cost of purchasing a season ticket.
It is none of your business why I have never purchased a Dundee Football Club season ticket.

When you have such strong opinions about the club and the team on the park it would be good to get some context as to why you can't, or won't, attend games regularly.

I didn't mention season tickets, that was you.

If Nelms and McBrearty had not set up the Dundee FC Academy Community Interest Company Limited scouts could have been appointed for the Aberdeen area.
