Goodwin obviously doesn't like young boy Harding as how he can't get a game in the defence is ridiculous. Goalkeeper is scary to watch and other players seem to play ever game when they don't deserve to

Camara brings urgency to the midfield and makes Sibbald play better. Not saying we wouldn't have conceded but we would definitely have shown more urgency and intensity with those two together..Originally posted by Whitfieldarab View PostHe should have started Camara instead of Eskinen but thats about it and as poor as we were Luca should have burst the net to make it 1-1 but he hits the post with the whole goal gaping. A sitter imo and a game changer.
Motherwell probably couldn't believe their luck in that first half. We made them look like Barca.

Agree Dave. Time for young Harding to get his chance. For big men there's a complete lack of bravery in there and at times terrible positional sense.Originally posted by Dave63 View PostGoodwin obviously doesn't like young boy Harding as how he can't get a game in the defence is ridiculous. Sibbald played like he had concrete in his boots tonight. Tbh, the goal aside first half, I don't think they threatened our goal much, which made losing a goal just before ht even more frustrating, could have reset, made changes, and gone for it, instead of having to chase the game leaving us exposed. Got what we deserved for that lacklustre first half effort though.Originally posted by Stoke_Arab View PostCamara brings urgency to the midfield and makes Sibbald play better. Young Sam is raw, I watched the Sco U21 game the other week, and he didn't look overly impressive. Had an excellent game against Aberdeen at the end of the season, after I thought nervy other appearances, but don't see how Lovu is being played ahead of him, I think young Sam has better potential, more to the point, what is the point in him being at Tannadice if he isn't getting a chance? Either give him a chance or send him out on load to Airdrie so can at least develop there.Originally posted by Stoke_Arab View PostAgree Dave. Time for young Harding to get his chance. Sibbald was lost trying to work out what Eskeson was trying to do. We've seen what Sibs does when paired with Camara, who by the way looked 100% fit when he came on. Goodwin completely blew that tonight. We won't overturn a goal every time so the solution is dont concede. And be honest with that shambles in the first half it was only a matter of time before they scored.Originally posted by JUSTaway View PostSibbald played like he had concrete in his boots tonight. We are crying out for an experienced SPL old timer to marshall our backline for the rest of the season. We have one of the best attacks we have had for years...but at the same time when we have one of the worst defences. It's so frustrating..but to be fair, this is a brand new team. Hopefully a wee tweak in January will see us good!

We’re needing Ross Graham massively- frankly all these breaks for rearranged games and then international breaks are actually a good thing as it’s reducing the number of games we have to play in his absence. Don’t think we can underestimate the loss of Max Watters as well BTW. Ditto for him as he was shaping up to be this season’s Sam Dalby before his injury.Originally posted by weegiearab View PostWe are crying out for an experienced SPL old timer to marshall our backline for the rest of the season. Are you sure you don't want to make it 5 in row? I would add Livi and Kilmarnock to the list of poor first half performances.Originally posted by JUSTaway View PostI thought that midfield lost us the game, gave them the impetus for the base of their 1-0 lead, leightweight and slow, could have subbed every one of them. A pretty woeful display that would have gone under the radar had we got in 0-0 at ht and made the changes, actually thats three pretty awful first half performances in a row - Rangers, St Mirren and tonight.

That midfield trio was so slow, lacked mobility and poor on the ball last night. Must have been fitness concerns over camara not to start him, which if so I can understand as you wouldn't want him missing for a lengthy period. I'm not sure what the answer is at the moment tbh, a sitting mid to screen/protect the defence? Maybe pappoe was the answer. You can't play 2 mids without camara in there.Originally posted by TerryTheTerror View PostI think the root of all our problems is the midfield. The space we are affording opposition is shocking. That second goal last night, Watt had an embarrassing amount of room to get his shot off. Saturday was the same but we got off with it.

We were lucky their shooting was rank Saturday as they had a lot of opportunities edge of box that never got closed down. Think last night there was an element of game being stretched and having lots of attackers on pitch, but even if then the defender can get out better.Originally posted by TerryTheTerror View PostI think the root of all our problems is the midfield. First goal I thought the Hungarian lad just lacked bit of aggression to get ahead of the attacker and get the block in, but I'd have to watch it back, which I don't intend doing anytime soon.
It's a bit of a cliche, but it was one of those nights I felt sorry for the away fans travelling through midweek to see a first half effort like that.
