  • Hearts (A)

I think like most...I have a bit of fear about this game. I have been saying all season that I don't think Hearts are as great as their position suggests but they are getting results and their confidence is sky high.
Another game where we need to try and put in a 90 minute performance. They have players that can really hurt us, so we need to be oan it from kick off.
Hopefully, the players that have been off it recently, turn up and we can get something from the game.
At this point...I would take a draw but I fear another slow start will see us on the wrong side of a bit of a doing which JG will say is "totally unacceptable!"
I hope I am wrong and we can start their winless run!

I'd like United to line-up as this:

    -----------------------------Kuch

    Stephenson/Nammo----SCH----KK----Ferry

    Trap------Sibbald/Stephenson---Camara--Fatah

    ---------------------Dolcek---------------------

    ---------------------Sapsford------------------

Nammo in for Stephenson if Sibbald out injured. I've had enough of this inverted wingers pish. Get Traps and Fatah on the wing and tell them to hit the byline. Either a hard low cross or pull it back like what Sapsford did for Watters in Vienna. The amount of times United put in a high cross which comes to nothing is so predictable. To even put crosses in before the 18 yard line is piss poor as well imo.

I'd even switch Dolcek out left and Traps off Sapsford with Fatah right. What I wouldn't do is put Traps on the left. I'd keep him on the right or just off Sapsford. Mix it up and for once just let the shackles off United and let us be the ones that have the opposition having to question their setup. Trying to do that has seen us been sh!te. I'd rather get beaten knowing that we have given the opposition a game, not some frigging game of chess where we have been absolute sh!te to watch and end up with no points anyway.

We could really do with something from this game, but I think a draw is the most we can hope for. I really hope we can avoid getting a doing like the wee team did at the same venue last weekend - that could be quite damaging and our season could start to unravel a bit if that happens. It would be nice to go and give the opposition something to think about like we did at Easter Road.

Hearts have got to be due a shaky moment, so I just hope it's in this game and we can capitalise on it.

Also, it would be good to see some players taking a game and rediscovering their early season form. He's by no means the only one, but Dolcek springs to mind.

Performances of late have done nothing to generate any enthusiasm whatsoever for this game. The only hope I'm clinging to is our recent good form at Tynecastle, but not expecting anything at all today.

No sign of Sibbald who was supposed to be ok for today, no Ferry either despite the manager saying there were no new injuries, wtf is going on? Watters and Graham will be back by Easter absolutely definitely maybe!

Not sure if true or not but I read that Sibbald had 20 stitches to repair the shin gash so tbh I wasn't expecting to see him today. Ferry presumably injured in training session. Hamstring no doubt, will be "out till December" then play his comeback game in February.

Who'd have thought a winger getting to the byline causes a bit of trouble that defenders don't like. From the resulting corner we score. Why not employ this tactic more often?

Esselink getting the ball from the keeper and thumping it out of play? I prefer the Houston method, keeper kicking it up to striker who nods it on for others to hold it up, in oppositions half.

Better decision making on the ball we could have won that.
We were excellent off the ball except for their goal.
                    Delighted with a point.

A point away at the league leaders, can't grumble. Pity we can't master the offside rule. Imagine not making subbies and seeing your team play more like a team, one can only hope Goodwin sticks to his strongest 11 from the start.

Fatah booked for simulation when it probably wasn't but Braga isn't booked despite creating the contact for his fall. Terrible refereeing.

Terrible refereeing is what we're stuck with mate,it's not going away anytime soon. Didn't get to watch the game today but sounds like we played well, goalie flogged another one? Starting to agree we need to give Richards a go because we have lost an awful lot of points this season due to his errors and defensive errors in general. Anyway I'll take the point and improved performance as I was expecting a sound beating tbh.

Never saw the match, how did naamo and lovu do? Was naamo left wing back? Hopefully we can kick on now and start to get some wins.

I felt like Hearts were diving, moaning and pretty dirty with their tactics. The referee was really poor again also....the booking at half time demonstrated how poor a grip of the game Beaton had!
An all round better performance though and we were deserving of the point. We definitely need to work on our passing though....we go through spells of games where I think we have players just meeting each other for the first time!
