In hindsight it looks like Goodwin got lucky on Tuesday. Lucky that he chose the correct lineup and they actually played passing football. Lucky that Livi were so poor.Originally posted by JUSTaway View PostAwful from the manager awful from the players. Big defenders that can't win headers, two tactics second half, ball out wide and cross, long throws, they were defending their box easy.
So what does he do?
Start the bombscare back 3
Start a Haddie at centre forward
Leave 2 midfielders up against 3
As Shedka says Ross Graham starts we most likely do not lose. Sam CH also, these players don't get caught out of position badly the way that Iovu Esselink and Keresztes do with the kamikaze high line.
You sold the shirt today Jim, not for the first time.

You're 100% correct.Originally posted by LSArab View PostWe should keep Goodwin.
Today was terrible though.
The 3-4-3 does not work against the weaker teams
Time and time again Goodwin has started home games 343 then had to change it to get something from the game after we go behind. Time and time again he does this despite what history should be telling him. How can he not see this? How???
He's playing his own stubborn game of Football Manager with our club and it needs to stop.

This one is on Goodwin again. Esselink gets picked again by Goodwin ahead of Graham. When is he going to realise he ain’t good enough. Graham must be thinking how bad am I if that’s what the managers picks ahead of me. As for watters he brings nothing. Is a lazy player at best and does nothing, can’t jump, can’t tackle can’t run. But time after time he gets picked by Goodwin. I am done with Goodwin. Time for a change. He post match interview says it all. Jim we never looked like scoring all day long.

If Goodwin can't see what is blindingly f*cking obvious to your average fan and continually does the same thing and expects a different result then what's your reasoning for keeping him?Originally posted by LSArab View PostWe should keep Goodwin.

Deluded interview by Goodwin afterwards, pointing out their goal was their only shot on our goal first half, well sure only because of their finishing, they must have missed 3 sitters. They had as many chances as us second half for all our possession, when we were totally predictable.

I wonder if Sevelj was on the bench just for numbers. Pulled up at Livingston. We had two keepers on the bench against the Sheep. Surely they can put a young lad on the bench to give him a boost on how he has been performing.
Scouting is all done differently now. Not an actual scout going out and watching a player with their own eyes. We've signed a lot of players who aren't suitable for the cut and thrust of Scottish football.
Playing a higher line, having a sweeper keeper, inverted wingers, wing-backs. I'll gladly take a keeper catching a ball. Full-backs over lapping a winger or right/left sided midfielder. A midfielder who will create time for spreading the ball about for a teammate in space. A twin pairing strike force that will occupy the opponents centre-halves and create an understanding with one another. Not much to ask for, but it seems these ways aren't the way football is to be played these days. 343 wildly exposed and once the opposition have the lead we offer the same meek predictable offerings time and again.
