Eyes still bleeding, the performance was terrible at every level. Richards didnt have much to do but the rest was terrible.

Accept the result and well done to every fan that turned up.........

I genuinely think that it's our formation that causes us the most problems. We seem to be able to get the ball into the final third and can do nothing with it. I had previously thought that Ferry and Fatah just had poor delivery but I think the lack of options in the box compounds this. Goodwin either needs to get the right players up front or change the formation. It's that old addage that if you don't shoot..you don't score!

I've thought for a while we've lacked an attacking creative midfielder who can drive forward, everything goes out wide for a cross, we just about never go through the middle and see someone slip a through ball through the middle. Think yesterday probably worked out the way you would expect in terms of a contest. Our biggest issue was decision making in the final third, waters was fairly anon, sapsford off it but recovering from illness tbf, Fatah had several opportunities to shoot but didn't pull the trigger. Combination off bad control, over hitting and under hitting passes - esp to ferry, players not shooting, made it more uncomfortable than it should have been.

That?s spot on. We are so utterly predictable that you would laugh if it wasn?t funny. Essentially the tactic is try and win ball in midfield or alternatively pass the ball between the central defenders for a bit but ultimately just pass the ball out to our left flank for Ferry and A.N. Other to then cross the ball in to the box. Yesterday it was Fatah with Ferry first half and then Trap second half. Rinse and repeat. The entire 90 minutes yesterday was a complete re-run of the second half v The Fun. Now we have no Dalby, it is just so easy for central defenders to defend. They don’t need to worry about us trying to pass our way through the middle. They don’t need to worry about us hitting the touchline and cutting it back. They don’t even need to worry about us shooting from distance as we rarely do that either. We are becoming so easy for the opposition to set up against us now that you just know exactly how a game is going to pan out before you get in. We got fortunate yesterday as it was really only a piece of great individual skill from Strain that FINALLY offered something different that got us the breakthrough. Thank god for that as I honestly thought it was heading for pens.

First and foremost we got the win in a game that we knew would be difficult and some Ayr players taught the not so subtle are of fouling and shirt pulling from the 'Brown football Academy' and getting a way with it.

For me the side is still too lop sided. We only play one out and out winger (Fatah), Ferry is not a winger in anyway shape or form, albeit he manages to do well, i would much rather see him in a proper left back position coming forward a la Robertson.

Sapsford is not a winger, again does well in the position played, he should be playing off the big front man whether, Watters or Moller.

Get Fatah on the right wing and Dolcek on the left; they have natural attacking instinct what they were brough into do! Yes they have to do some defending and should be the first line of defence, but constantly back tracking will not create the needed forward momentum, to potentially hurt teams. And we have shown we can do.

Finally it seemed to me we were always playing the long ball, very few 10 yard passes and players making themselves available.

JG you have a good team; you've shown you can get results, lets start playing some more cohesive football.

                  Where did you see that?

And more importantly, why do you put a space before a comma? Where were you taught that?

Not really, United fans laughed when it was read out and cheered when it was corrected, so the announcer has read it a typo or an error then been corrected, nothing to do with the 518 Ayr fans reaction ya walloper, everyone knew the sales online were about 4300 including away support as they do every home game and have done for about 7 years now

We moved to the system years before Dundee copied us and went with the same online sales interface a few years later as usual as you were still using paper tickets etc until about two years ago like the tin pot outfit you are

It's still 50% more than you'd have sold for the same opposition at the same round at dens and more than you had at home to hearts for a season ticket game last weekend

Infact we know you sold about 900 at home to Motherwell and got outnumbered by their 1200 at the same stage a few years back

You were attendance obsessed on here during the bonetti years for those of us who remember the old rivals forums and the early days of this forum (25 years now) , that was when you all turned out for a 2-3 year period then disappeared again, but dont give it the attendance FC crap as it don't wash with those of us who know you trophy virgins went on about it all the time and now that we are very much the better supported club don't like it

Is that right? Is that where he's getting it from? How would a wee team supporter know information like what attendance was read out at a United game?

I think people are being too negative just now about anything United related imo, dont know if it's other negative fans rubbing off on others and it's just catching with social media hysteria at times

Let's not get stuck in that mindset

Perspective, that was comfortable yesterday, the first half was poor as we played too slow and they were working really hard and right up for it

Second half was only gonna be one winner, they were tiring from half way through the second period, we dominated and I always thought a goal was coming in the last quarter which was helped by the subs particularly Strain clearly improving us

They (Ayr) really didn't threaten, that's a professional job in what others were looking at as a potential shock, ok there was the slight doubt that it could go to extra time but even then could only see us winning it as like I say they were flagging by the 70th minute

More comfortable than any other prem v champ side this weekend and there were about 5

Things really aren't that bad just now, bit of an average season, bit disappointing as we should have more points but can still make something of it

Credit to Goodwin and the team for job done as can only imagine the outrageous reaction had it gone a different way, but it never and never looked like doing so, credit due

Two more home games this month to try and rebuild form that was good in December

Probably read it on social media, as it was met with laughter and bewilderment from everyone in attendance when he said 7 thousand, then he came on the tannoy to correct the obvious error a couple mins later with the correct figure

I wonder what the pricing will be? Surely Goodwin couldn't do a double of Darvel and Spartans.............
