Massive massive game for the club,I'd go 442

    Kucherenko
    Sevelj Esselink Keresztes Ferry
    Thomson Sibbald Camara Dolcek
    Sapsford Watters

    Richards
    Sam Harding
    Iovu
    Fatah
    Nammo (If finally fit)
    Kai
    Stirton
Plus the rest of the Academy lads as we have no choice

I'd go 442 but I would have pace and directness on both flanks. Hit the byline, hard low cross like what Dolcek put in, in 1st match and cut it back like Sapsford did for Watters goal. I thought Fatah did well in the air today, can't usually say that about wingers. Has pace and I think RV are vulnerable if you get at them. Do not let them have it their own way.

Always think back to how Houston went to Daly through the middle with Goodie further back. Didn't work and we didn't qualify for Europe by playing that way. Sapsford had the right idea in Vienna, run at them and with a sight at goal, shoot.

They won away at the current champions Sturm Graz yesterday

And across last season and this season have won 6 out of 9 away legs in Europe, including wins at trabsonspor and Istanbul basaksehir, Wisla Krakow and djurgardens in the qf last season, a narrow defeat away to Braga

So will be every bit as tough as the away leg and be some result if we get through

This could end up being a great week or a sh*t one really. I think with everyone fit we win that game yesterday and would be in a good place for the next two games. As it is, we are down to the bare bones and running on empty. Let's hope the players we have available can see us through, but would really help to get some extra bodies in this week that can at least play at the weekend.

Yeah, it's a real tough one on Thursday. Honestly I'm just happy we are still in it as I thought we'd get pumped last week. Fingers crossed for a super human effort from the team but I think we'll need to score at least 2 goals to get through. The defence is a bit of a shambles right now.

Yea I think they'll score, they have only failed to score away from home in Europe once in the 2-3 years and that was at Fiorentina

We need to defend well all the same, it's still doable, with fans behind the team we can pull off something special to extend the stay in Europe and get to the play off rd

Either way need to dust ourselves down fast after as Killie away is a big game too and we have the weekend after free with the sheep game postponed already

I really have the fear that this has St Mirren Gothenburg written all over it.

Goodwin said before the FALKIRK game he was hoping for 2 signings before it.
The recruitment team and/or the Chairman don't seem to have realised what's at stake and raised the bar when required. Our bench yesterday was arguably weaker than when we were in the Championship. Its not acceptable.

It's absolutely criminal that we had to go into yesterday's match without proper reinforcements and it could end up costing the club league positions and Group Stage football.

Very harsh, we've done lots of business, we don't want to sign people for the sake of it either, you also cannot force people to sign, we've probably missed out on some who we have made offers too

Also hard to predict we'd be so unlucky with injuries so early or Pappoe would get a bad one in Vienna

Hoping isn't saying anything was definite, plenty moving parts and I've no doubt they are working behind the scenes to get more in

                    Telling it as it is

What do you disagree with, you used the word criminal, thought that as harsh

Have they not signed 11 players, 4-5 of which have had injuries or illness at times in Watters case , plus the injuries to Graham, Strain and Trap plus Ferry's suspensions

However that work they done has still allowed us to go and get a good result over Strassen and stay in the tie in Vienna against the odds

And if you believe Alan Temple they are working hard behind the scenes to bring in more

I think we have signed some good players and once JG has had them for longer I really think we'll see that come through. But even now you can see the quality is better than we had. The one that springs to mind straight away is Middleton v Dolček...

Rallying call - we are tired

Dundee United defender Krisztian Keresztes: "I don't think we are favourites but we will fight until the end.
"I think these type of games are where you can develop yourself because the big prize is on the line so we have to grow up for this and make the right decisions.
"We are tired, we don't have that many players, we have a lot of injuries but if you mentally prepare well I think you can be surprised how you are able to play."

I think we can win this game but we'll need to get everything right. If we pile some major pressure on them, get them rattled and score first you never know.

                          C'mon United 🧡

All depends on how we line-up. Goodwin says the four at the back didn't work well against Falkirk. We had KK as a left-back so it wouldn't have been as fluid as one would have hoped. Ferry in at left-back is a whole different scenario.

If Rapid have done their homework they would look to get at Iovu as the weak link. How do you derail their plans? You take Iovu out of the equation and Rapid have their homework all crumpled up and in the bin. I think Sapsford exposed a weakness in them, run at them and they weren't expecting that. He had a sight at goal and he scored. Goals can put a different perspective on games and as Stoke_Arab has mentioned above score first and you test the resolve of Rapid.

No matter what way the game goes tomorrow, Goodwin has to be credited with building a great squad. He has got the pace and trickery that we've all wanted for a while. His central defenders are great. His midfield has found new energy and this Danish boy looks as though he is the midfield version of Bert imo. All we require now is one central striker but I'm sure they have this player identified.

IMO we really need to score 1st or at least keep ourselves in the game for the 1st half...then anything can happen 🫣
