Just having a debate with a mate and need an answer to this....

When we played a Cup Semifinal v Sevco at the "neutral venue" Ibrox why was that. Why was Hampden Parkhead out and why not Murrayfield?

Pretty sure Hampden was being done up for the commonwealth games, Celtic said no to the game being at parkhead.

Not sure about Murrayfield but it was most likely money related!

Yup, that was it - spot on. 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, meant that Hampden was in the process of being temporarily converted into an athletics venue. The cup final was to be held at Parkhead, so the two semis were played at Ibrox.

It was a sh1tter for sure. I drove up from Nottingham for the final. Then had the all too familiar feeling of driving back to Dundee from Glasgow in May with the disappointment of another cup final defeat. My wife was staying up in Dundee for a few days so I drove back down the road by myself, unfortunately timed it that I was driving past Perth just as all the Saints supporters were heading into town for their cup winners reception.
