If its for sale ( which it was ) then Im assuming the area , regardless who purchased it , would be earmarked for development anyway .Originally posted by JamesMcClean View PostSo you're OK with them taking up a chunk of Camperdown Park?
Personally if its going to bring other benefits to the city such as bowling alley , hotel , retail outlets and an arena that can attract proper concerts along with other commercial benefits then surely it can only be a good thing for the city .
Aside from that i personally couldn't care less what they are doing .
What i would say is , if it was an unknown developer looking to build an arena with other commercial spin offs or if it was Ogren looking to do this i doubt we would be seeing quite the outrage on here at the thought of Campy being redeveloped for such a thing .
Leave them to it , probably pie in the sky anyway so as i say who really cares .

Once a piece of parkland is developed it is gone from public use.Originally posted by DBDU View Post

Just because you couldn't care less shouldn't mean we all shouldn't care less either.

There would be huge outrage if Ogren tried this as Tannadice is a cracking ground and big enough for us aswell as questions about the viability, we should be keeping campy and cairdy for the public as they are meant to be, the training area eating into the area used by the public doesn't sit right with me
You don't care but you are posting about it, if ya don't want to discuss the funsters the thread is easy to avoid

John Nelms has got The Funsters sitting in The New Derry by 2024,i reckon it will take years and years of planning permission meetings etc to even get a spade in the ground.Dinnie listen to me though as he is expert in these matters and i know SFA.I really do not care whether the new stadium goes ahead or not although i admit i would miss Dens as it gave me some of the best memories of my life,FACT.
The only thing i would say though is there must be NO groundshare between us and them,my reasons for this are not tribalism etc its based purely on the state of pitches when clubs share i cite Firhill with Partick and Queens Park as the perfect example.

But he goes on about re-developing the ‘Derry’ which is well known as being impossible as the ground it’s built on is full of all manner of toxic keech which can’t be disturbed.Originally posted by Jim_Jam View PostGood article in Courier today by Jim Crumley,
Forget plans for a new stadium.

Step 1 - remove all dead animal carcasses from within the entire area of the siteOriginally posted by Jim_Jam View PostGood article in Courier today by Jim Crumley,

Four step plan to save Dens Park.
Step - remove the mountains of bird sh*te in the Auld Hun Stand
Step 3 - ensure thorough sanitisation of the entire area of the site
Step 4 - realise steps 1-3 were a complete waste of time, nothing was going to clean that dump up, and return to the new and improved plans for Camperdown
