I realize it?s the interwebs and so much of it is just noise but a constant refrain is that he prefers Marseille over us. I do believe that due to the fact our offer is higher than theirs. That?s his prerogative and he?s been up front about it.
However at 35 million he?s a high risk sign. Not every Brazilian is the next Raph. If he is as good as they say he?s gone in a year and we make money. However, if he?s not we are out the money and saddled with another KJA.
You also have the impact on our existing squad. A big money signing not blooded in the prem has a big negative impact on many squads. Leeds has more than our share of failures in this area. Our signings this year seem reasonable by current prem money standards and many appear to want to play for us
With the current owners and the supporters we have there is no reason we can?t become a ?destination? team for some of the best players. That doesn?t happen when you are begging for players to sign.
It?s time to really believe that and it doesn?t start with players like him.
