  • PL Football transfer fees - Seriously are they having a Laugh

Seriously, the Geordie Magpies value the Sweden international Isak at about 150m & turned down a bid of 110m from the Scouser champions this week.😲

Been reading a study bout investment fees ruining football with the emphasis over financial return over footballing merit which can have detrimental effects on player welfare, mental health & overall well-being as 25 per cent of PL players admit to mental health issues now.😳

Having completed my BSc in Psychology via the Open University I gotta admit that I am glad our club has not got involved into paying silly fees to get players on board & that DF is a stickler for blending correct personality types into our team building too.

Jeez, so frightening now that when a club spends 100 million plus on one player, that the price tag follows them now everywhere 24/7 & onto the pitch, then into press conferences & even into their own head, too.
So I am glad we wont be signing such players, in all honesty.

But why does that price tag matter so much & why do some players thrive under the weight while others then struggle ?

A performance psychologist who works with top athletes pointed out how the pressure of a big transfer fee can affect performance in that players feel the need to prove their worth right away, which can lead to overthinking & anxiety on the pitch for starters cos when players become too aware of themselves & how others are judging them, it can mess with their natural flow of play, which recent stats are now showing alarming cases particularly in anxiety disorders & mood disorders among top players.

Could make for an interesting season for little old Leeds with its latest bunch forming a fighting fit unit ready for combat. 👍

    Just saying

They don?t want him to go so have set an unrealistic valuation.

      Good points Monaco.
I notice that one of our new recruits Anton really wants to get Stuck into the match. So does Willy Gnonto. On the other hand I notice that Sean Longrod really does not want to get stuck into these preliminary matches.

More to the point does Isak wanna go ?
Suspect hes been ill advised too.

He will be on mega money already, also in the CL with them starting in September, so been looked after well by Newcastle with 3 years still left on his contract & possible further pay rises so disappointing behaviour from an alleged hero & team player for sure, imo.

Strange operating system going on behind Newcastle doors for a while now since former sporting director Paul Mitchell walked last year stating 'their transfer strategy' was not fit for purpose.

Interesting to see if Eddie Howe can gel it all together at this late stage before the season starts cos his employers never want to publicly comment about matters & leave him to always explain scenarios which must create pressure situations particularly regarding their current account balancing scenario requirements.

Good for us that such distractions are happening in PL currently. 👍

Yup - if he stays suspect the bar codes fans will give him a bit of grief too.

Maybe we can sign Muniz too.

I hope we have docked Matteo Joseph?s wages for his melodrama too - if you CBA to come and train and play then fine or otherwise don?t pay the fecker - his agent deserves a bit of opprobrium too if he advised young Matteo to adopt that stance.

Not too upset we have gooners and barcodes early. Your points are spot on. Great squads and well coached so probably won?t matter but?.

Here across the pond we have ?free agency? in our non relegation ?pro sports?. The stars end up with the huge money instead of the club. Just as lopsided as the FA but a different twist
