  • Harry Gray To Man City.....

    It seems rather unfortunate.

The 49's are not known as being a "star" based team. They have great talent but won't use an excessive amount of payroll on a single player. If that mindset holds true for Leeds then the 40 million (80 million counting Archie) makes a lot of business sense in a coldly calculating way.

The saving grace might be that they hold on to him longer to see if they can get even bigger money.

It is rather disturbing that all of the interwebs keep talking about this. The old saying about smoke indicates a fire seems to apply to us

It?s also disturbing that a player they are willing to give up big money for hasn?t played a minute for us this season.

40 mil is a lot but if he?s half as good as They say he is it?s a steal.

I don?t understand where getting Phillips for his big salary is a deal for us. Hasn?t played for years

No one wants him because of his wages as his on 150 k a week! He also can't get a game at Ipswitch.

Once Phillips left Leeds he was done, but at least he?s a multi millionaire

40 mill can’t be serious, doesn’t matter how good someone looks in youth teams.

If that was even remotely genuine the club would be utterly stupid not to take it.

Really? And do what with the proceeds?

Sometimes it pays to take a gamble.

Some silly stupid club (wonder who that club was ) could have had Erling Haaland for peanuts but thought he wasn't good enough despite him looking class in youth teams.

                  Media talk.

He is well advised by both his family and his agents (his dad part owns it but doesn?t directly act as his agent).

I am sure they will all be telling him to go somewhere he will progress and get football if and when he leaves.

The cautionary tale of Phillips, Grealish, Palmer and McAtee is one I am sure they are all fully aware of.

His brother cant get a game and is 2 years older when he left us. It's hard but if the money quoted is tight club would be silly not to take it. It can go 2 ways good or bad. 40 mil you can get 2 or 3 established players.

Jumping in on the "it can go good or bad" part of comment. For both Harry and us.

actually, It can go mediocre as well for both parties. Harry could leave and end up with a career of mediocrity. Not necessarily a failure but no where near what it could have been. The club could end up getting multiple useful players but no where near what a striking star would have done for the club.

I'm sure that Piroe, Gnonto or Meslier don't view their careers as failures but probably not what they could have been. I also suspect that is Solomon, A Gray or Phillips wish they had a "re do" on there the agents.... oops their decision was made on their career.

Piroe would not be disappointed at all. He came as a championship top player, and he is just that, the other 2 on the other hand, were huge raps so yeah, really disappointing.
