  • The afcon debacle

Just happened to see the last 10 of normal time.
    Unbelievable Jeff.

It really is a wild tourney. However this year was off the scale

Not quite sure why it exists? The crowds were "minimal", in terms of commercial viability, continental TV coverage nowhere near what you might expect, interest elsewhere simply non-existent (apart from hoping those playing for PL/EFL clubs not getting injured!). And then the debacle at the final. Maybe a competition too far?

So has there been a precedent set now.
If you’re not happy with the refs decision, you walk off, then after some negotiation, you come back on the pitch and score the winner.
In my very humble opinion, the game should have ended when Senegal walked off. Morocco win. Game over.

I believe it exists for bragging rights. I think you have to be a citizen of that country. Tighter rules than World Cup.

I agree with Billy. Game over when you walk off.

Maybe we should have walked off in 1975 with that clearly corrupt Ref.

This tournament; Countries have complained about the lack of security, training facilities, ticket allocation... Senegal got 2,500 for a near 70K ground... should be on every 4 years.... was it a penalty?

Mane can hold his head high - seemed to be the one calm head on the pitch and conducted himself with perfect restraint and calmness.
