Another example of the priority of the individual over the collective.Originally posted by Billyni View PostSomeone deliberately wanted to create controversy.
The match could have been started later or arranged for the religious break to be at half time.
Sometimes you get people who are asking to be insulted.
If it was that important then the players should have started on the bench rather than interupt a game that people have paid their hard earned cash for.
Media seems to be feeding into Leeds is full of racists nonsense as opposed to understanding the just f?ing get on with it mentality.

Really?
Billy - Sharia law for bad tackles next
Spaldy - An honor killing of the guilty players daughter? Second offense the wife or mother?
Pacaman - Taking the knee, breaks for Ramadan, all a load of bolloxy
Rev - Keep Religion out of Football especially that particular one!
Taking the knee relates to racism, not religion
Mention of honour killings, joking or otherwise, really?
Keep religion of out of football, agreed 100%, but "Especially that one", really?
None of that was necessary

And its not just religion (ALL religions) that needs to be kept out of football;

Spoke to a few people I know who went to the game the anger was more that Theos was seen as yet another City/Pep ruse to waste time.
I am told around this time the following song was then sung
We know what you do
We know what you do
Always cheating
We know what you do
Tends to suggest something else as opposed to racism. Pep afterwards simply said they needed some energy and tried to play it down. If they needed energy then a bottle of water and an energy drink at the side of the pitch should have surely sufficed.
Have people at work who are fasting and if we are on work calls they dont suddenly ask for a break to eat and drink in the middle of the if it.

Please enlighten me as to what race has to do with taking a break in the middle of a football match.
Maybe you can also educate me on what killing someone to preserve allah's honor, cutting off women's genitals against their will, treating women as farm animals and property with no rights and killing all "infidels" has to do with race. It's nothing to do with race and everything to do with religion. Just another of your smoke screens to take a rather simple fact that easily verifiable with even the most basic research and distorting it to some kind of race thing.

I agree 100% that the delay wasn't necessary, as I wrote, I just don't think the comments made in the posts were necessary and they (as well otgers made elswhere), simply provide ammunition to those who would do Leeds down.Originally posted by hopelesslyoptimistic View PostSpoke to a few people I know who went to the game the anger was more that Theos was seen as yet another City/Pep ruse to waste time.

I did say (you appear to have missed it), that the "taking the knee" is related to reducing racism in football, nothing to do with religion.Originally posted by spaldy View PostPlease enlighten me as to what race has to do with taking a break in the middle of a football match.

To equate the (admittedly unnecessary) delay in proceedings with the possibility of honour killings, or fgm (look it up), or anything else you (and others), have posted on the subject plays directly into the hands of those who accuse Leeds of islamaphobia. I'd prefer if we didn't give them any excuse, you presumably disagree.

Agree Hopey, what they been doing in previous years, it's easy enough to throw a player an energy bar/drink...... tho hang on if your a Catholic and off the beer for lent, your allowed to break abstinance on a Sunday, would give a new dynamic to drink breaks for the Sunday matches.. Slá¡inte...... maybe get Guinness to sponsor the breakOriginally posted by hopelesslyoptimistic View PostSpoke to a few people I know who went to the game the anger was more that TheoÃÂs was seen as yet another City/Pep ruse to waste time.
