Thoughts from the game.
Ao Tanaka got the biggest cheers and again at
Full time. He is such an elegant player on the ball.
Agree with what was said before that the fringe players did well.
Was interesting watching against Norwich how players read the game.
Longstaff and Tanaka in midfield were both very good at reading the game and being in the right place at that right time.
Piroe and Dan James not so much - wonder if James has always been able to just rely on pace and not needed to develop that side of it.
Bicol looked very dominant all game.
Justin James also was a big contrast with some others in reading the game when he came on - he is incredible but GGud yet again was exceptional with and without the ball.
They didnt show the replay at the ground of the claimedpen where Nmecha was claiming he was pushed - was it a pen?
If took VAR and the refs decision to get the team and the crowd going but once they did for one of the first times in decades we looked comfortable in the cup!

Agree James speed works well in Championship but some of his decision making/awareness not at it for PL. Thought Nmecha ratcheted up a notch for a regular spot pushing DCL which is what we needOriginally posted by hopelesslyoptimistic View PostWouldn?t play either James or Piroe from the off.
Also Tanaka plays better forward.

I agree on your conclusions above.Originally posted by hopelesslyoptimistic View PostWouldn?t play either James or Piroe from the off.

read and heard so many discussions about Tanaka. a beautiful intelligent addition to our team when we are at it. but overall balanced views often suggested he shows defensive frailty in getting caught out when facing attacks.
his form has been inconsistent to be fair and whilst I am not questioning his ability hes not going to be one holding down a starting spot presently within the demanding pace of pl game to and fro tempo. many regular observers suggest that when he loses the ball or is caught out then his composure can drop, leading to rash decisions later on in a game.
always liked James ability to forego his natural direct attacking instinct to do his shift defending his flank but maybe now as before in his pl shifts at differing clubs that final product in his ability range is frustratingly still hit and miss.
interesting if you could provide a fan feedback experience of your day at ER on here which can be forwarded in helping to regularly evaluate our clubs current progress which will help them create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all fans feel valued and heard.
any such feedback will help evaluate the clubs progress who need to report back to the pl on all achievement targets made at the end of the current season.
the transformation of ER into a UEFA category 4 stadium will obviously place it as an elite venue hopefully accommodating most on our 26,000 waiting list and transform the local Holbeck and Beeston community with an emphasis on current travelling to the ground experiences to forward to National Highways to take on board all views.

Yeah Tanaka is a conundrum at times but largely based around where he plays.Originally posted by MrsORichSenior_ View PostI agree on your conclusions above.

Played in the pivot yesterday and you can see the other players trust him as they are always happy to give him the ball. He also reads the game so well and anticipates runs and danger well.
Sometimes he needs better support but also if he ends up static with a player he can get outmuscled but only game time wil improve that.
Was in the West Stand for the first time in ages (Bremner Suite) - the suite and hospitality was better than the centenary suite package. The actual seating area itself is fairly dated and the gantry above looks decrepit.
Getting to the ground is alright but at night leaving the main route back into town is rammed if you are walking. A few ppl took the route to the right coming out of low field which is easy to get lost on if you dont know the route especially at night. The club should put more money into the Holbeck viaduct project as that would be a great walkway to and from the ground.
They should consider providing more how to get ther into with the tickets.
The pies were miles better than they used to be and both tasty and no longer put you in gear of losing a tooth.
