Agree WS, gonna need a full squad to continue that kinda momentum but gotta few to chop & change tactical style if required too.Originally posted by whitestomper45 View PostYes Totty solid 1st match performance, our new signings prove you dont have to spend ridiculous amounts. Harrison did well when he came on next Arsenal away, thats going to be a test but its the teams likely around us who will define our season .glowing in pic, when is the big Day
Just kinda wish we recruit a finisher up front who is comfortable on the close-ball situation in the box as the two presently dont appear to have that quick strike response in tight situations, imo.
Oh, September time is anticipated 'arrival' date. 🤞

Surprised that noone has brought up the fact that we started with 8 of 10 outfield players from last season. Gudmonson took Firpo's left back as Junior left. Stach replaced Aaronson as we moved into 4-3-3 formation. It shows our lads from last season in Championship have the quality to stay with the likes of Everton. Gudmondsson was excellent, Stach was excellent. Gnonto was skilful but couldn't find the last pass or the finish. Same with Tanaka. Piroe was good too. If it wasn't for Pickford, piroe would have scored.

I am over the moon on our size.
So tired of dreading every restart against us and watching our restarts as being nothing more than a post injury drop ball to the other team.
Stach's corner kicks are very, very good. However, does make you wonder not having him in the box. Surely we can find someone else to take those.

1 final opinion. No penalty for me. My first thought was penalty because he leaned in to the ball but on further replays the ball does take a deflection and his arms were by his side, so for me - no penalty. For those interested, in the States commentators said penalty. Analyst in the studio Danny Higginbotham said, "penalty".Originally posted by spaldy View PostI am over the moon on our size.

On a different note, after the match, network interviewed David Moyes. My American wife exclaimed, "I don't understand a word he's saying. Is he speaking english?". I replied honestly, "No".

That's the thing, you say the championship players, then you mention our best 2 were the newcomers. Even the keeper whom I have doubts over crosses never worried me.Originally posted by cherrypie7 View PostSurprised that noone has brought up the fact that we started with 8 of 10 outfield players from last season. For me the 2 championship players that stood out for me were Pat and Tanaka; the rest were just what they were back then. Don't forget we were playing Everton at home and by the looks of it will be down the bottom again. Let's wait till Arsenal, then start judging, as I hope we are ok and don't go to SW with dropped heads.

Yes, when I saw the replay, I thought Oh no, this will be canceled. He did whatever he could as the law states, so I feel it was unfair. When you have refs and VAR, you would think we should not be talking about these things, but here we are. The memories of Cooper pulling players in the box with a few given but heaps not gruelllllllll.Originally posted by cherrypie7 View Post1 final opinion. No penalty for me. I apologize. Did not see the post. yes, i notice that Noah Okafor is coming to Leeds. A forward who hasn't played much, so no idea how good. But looks like he is top league quality, so I am hopeful. Apparently Farke pushed for this one, so maybe he knows something.Originally posted by norfolk white View PostCherry pie, if you look a couple of posts back to yours Ive stated that 8 of last nights team were with us in the championship and none looked out of place, well done boys, also the guy from Milan has just signed so things are quite rosy at the moment.

Disagree on the penalty assessment.
Looking at the replay that ball was going in. Even Pickford was not stopping that (he is a very, very good keeper). The deflection had him going the wrong way.
The defender does not get to that ball with bending over and moving his arm a wee bit. It's splitting hairs and I know it's not supposed to enter into the mix but it does. That little movement kept it from going in.
I think we all know deep down that is a penalty 10/10 times if it was reversed and our defender had done that.
