PL 25/26 - Final table after fixtures of 24/5/2.

Please check (and, errr, let me know, like!) for any errors and/or omissions.

    Table is in format:- poster/previous total/weekly score/new total/status.

    Orgoner / 333 / 12 / 345 / Active
    Ozleeds / 324 / 18 / 342 / Active

Carrick to stay?: More Turds: Palace rest?: Toon in free fall?: Meh Salah: Pep gone: Cherry Trees: Bad week for Palmer: Safe, but there's always next season: Too much, too late

The weekly scoring has already been covered in the PL Dash thread, so all I really need to do here is report that your second favourite (assuming we only have two?) moderator, Orgoner, limped (he does have severely bruised ribs at the moment - don't ask how!) over the line to win the 2025/2026 PL League by just three points. The biggest, bestest, shiniest trophy will likely be ordered, barring a late stewards' inquiry from Down Under.

Ozleeds put in one of the better (well, least pathetic!) Dash scores to secure second spot ahead of Pacaman, who came pretty close to winning the PL double. More on Paca in the Dash thread.

In terms of this final week, there were three draws, so Johnny_Default finished on 105 points. Any Strike One, Strike Two or Strike Three posters scored nine, six, or three for their total lack of effort.

The average active weekly score was 11.66.

Orgoner is the official PL 2025/2026 winner

    The results

    (P) Brighton v Man Utd (0-3)
    (P) Burnley v Wolves (1-1)
    (P) Palace v Arsenal (1-2)
    (P) Fulham v Newcastle (2-0)
    (P) Liverpool v Brentford (1-1)
    (P) Manchester City v Villa (1-2)
    (P) Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth (1-1)
    (P) Sunderland v Chelsea (2-1)
    (P) Tottenham Hotspur v Everton (1-0)
    (P) West Ham v Leeds (3-0)

As a traditional (pointless!) observation, this is the top of the final table for "fixed" entries.

    Two-One / 276 / 15 / 291
    One-Nil / 270 / 15 / 285
    Two-Nil / 237 / 15 / 252
    Three-One / 237 / 12 / 249
    Nil-One / 237 / 9 / 246
    One-Two / 228 / 15 / 243
    Three-Nil / 228 / 15 / 243
    Three-Two / 231 / 12 / 243
    Nil-Two / 231 / 9 / 240
    Four-One / 219 / 12 / 231

Many thanks to those of you who took the time to enter and, assuming there's still enough interest, the 24th version of the PL competition (with the corresponding Dash) should start again later this year! Maybe even a WC PL before then?

All the best. Have a great summer! Stay safe!

There were two teams I failed to complete this season.

    One home. One away.

    Did anyone notice?

They will both be in the same division next season, but played in very different leagues in 2025/2026.

(I'm probably going to have to tell you, aren't I?)

At the end of the 2015/16 season, eighty teams finished between this pair...

Leicester is right. Bromley is the other.

                      Definitely heading in opposite directions.

                        Oh... less I'm going mad..

                        Leicester 1st in PL, Notts County 14th Lge 2...... so +19+24+24+14 = 81

Bromley 14th in Conference 95 places..? maybe I'm getting too much sun

Lincoln City at the time finished 13th, Wrexham 8th in Conference, some coincidence that

My wording was a bit strange - I meant the number of teams between them, but Notts County obviously did something similar.

                            Wrexham more so!

Yes, by my reckoning there was :

                              104 teams between Leicester and Bromley that season, (19 in PL + 24 Championship + 24 Lge1 + 24 Lge2 + 13 Conference
80 Teams between Leicester and Notts County that season (-24 off Bromley figure)
