At least (until now) we haven't had p a e d o philes, drunkards , mysogynists and convicted felons occupying the most senior posts in the administration of the (supposedly) most powerful nation of earth (not for much longer given Putins ability to play the chimp in the White House). And we haven't (until now) had those same incompetents using insecure "open-source" chat mechanisms to slap each other (metaphorically for the most part) on the back for mounting a supposedly secret military operation to "take out" huhti rebels who wouldn't have the justification of targeting Red Sea shipping (of ANY nation) if it wasn't for the USA staunch support of the genocide being perpetrated by the IDF. The chimp has denied farmers in the midwest of funds they have relied upon for years via USAID payments, he has stripped the systems used to pay US Veterans of resources leading to delayed and denied payments of life-essential funds to keep those who have served the US at home and abroad alive, he has conspired with his cronies to cut medical aid programmes assisting those who life-threatening illnesses, he has terminated research programmes undertaken by world-renowned and respected organisations into aids retro-virals, and preventative therapies aimed at combating future pandemics. The USA is experiencing its biggest and most rapid brain drain as scientists and researchers leave for other countries where there skill and expertise will be rewarded and exploited, and I use that word advisedly. The Local Food Purchase Assistance program, for food banks to buy from local farmers, also was canceled for the upcoming cycle that begins in December. Without these programs, the small farms that make up the majority of Maryland's agricultural industry stand to lose some of their largest customers."

"Of late"????? I think not. Corruption in the arms trade is and has always been endemic. Which countries and companies benefited most from the arms race during and after WWII? The same applies to the various proxy wars fought between the US and the Soviets over decades covering the Cold War (not so cold if you were in Africa).
