French Ligue 1 club Marseille hotting up chasing Soloman reports Canal Sports plus.
So Solomon remains contracted at Spurs until the summer of 2028, meaning to get him on a permanent basis not gonna be cheap.
However, there is a way in which Leeds could potentially negotiate a cheaper deal than Spurs asking price which relates to last summers Archie Gray move.
Gray moved for 40m pounds last July & the necessary steps for that transfer are understood to have taken place prior to June 30 which permited Leeds to include the sale in their 2023/24 accounts.
So we included Grays sale into our most recently available financial report, allowing to avoid any potential Profitability & Sustainability sanctions for the relevant 3 year accounting period ending June 30, 2024.
Like the majority of football transfers such fees are rarely paid up front meaning Leeds will still be owed a portion of the 40m pounds of Grays sale which is likely to be spread over the length of Grays Spurs contract which runs to 2030.
According to Leeds 2023/24 accounts we are owed 69m pounds in future transfer instalments by other clubs with Spurs understood to be one of them.
Of course we must remember the player has had a persistent meniscus problems & surgery on his right knee which was still troubling him while with us. The original injury in Sept 2023 kept him sidelined for 11 months 'tho he played 39 games for us while his knee was carefully managed & banged in 10 goals.
It was a serious injury he suffered & while surgery can address the tear it also comes with potential long term performance implications, especially for players returning to the highest level of competition.
Football players with meniscus injuries may experience a limited range of motion in the affected knee & they may have difficulty fully bending or straightening the knee joint. I noted Solomon recently stated that it was only since March 2025 that he was nearly pain free when striking the ball & nearly had full rotation of his knee again.
Dunno the amount of meniscus removed but you can develop arthritis changes years later if the injury is not managed, I am told.
So full credit to our Medical treatment plans which were tailored to Solomons needs during the time of year on the seasons pitches. 👍
S over to you Mr Solomon - Do you wanna stay or do you wanna go ?

Back in the day (70s), cartilage injuries as they were called, spelled the end of football careers. At least the end of one's best days.Originally posted by Monaco_Totty View PostFrench Ligue 1 club Marseille hotting up chasing Soloman reports Canal Sports plus.

The great Dennis Law sustained one and he was never the same again. Coincidentally, Gruev sustained one this season, got surgery and came back, all in a matter of months. Amazing how far modern surgery has come. I think Solomon genuinely wants to stay. I think it may come down to price. This is slightly reminiscent of the Ben White situation, although we never got clarification as to how committed he was to playing for Leeds. Here, Solomon has publicly stated that he loves the club. So might be different.

Its actually possible to rehab a minor torn meniscus but surgeries are usually for deeper or more severe meniscus 'cuts'. The fact is Solomon actually has had 3 surgeries on the knee, 2 at Spurs & 1 whilst at Fulham in 22/23 which kept him out for 5 months.
He played for Fulham on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2022/23 season, he signed after a FIFA ruling which allowed Ukrainian based foreign players to suspend their contract with parent clubs, due to an ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
He had made his debut in the PL opener against Liverpool on 6 August 2022 as a second half sub during a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.
Unfortunately the following day in a training match he suffered a bad meniscus knee injury which required surgery, so was out for a large portion of the start of that season too.
Ethan Ampadu had a complicated knee injury that was originally described as a 'cartilage issue' too.
While initially expected to need surgery, Leeds opted for a conservative rehab treatment approach hoping he could return before the end of the season.
This meniscus issue & the clubs intensive rehabilitation program got him a return in 4 to 6 weeks.
I actually had a surfing accident hitting rocks hidden under waves & needed both my wrist tendons sorting as both were severed right through.
Ok now except my right hand thumb has limited movement due to nerves being cut right through leaving nerve damage, so yes repairs are possible but shortened tendons stitched together do limit full movement, for sure & jeez the hand movement rehab sessions were really hard but the scars are healing well now, so no need to get tattoos to hide them. 😊
Also, Leeds has a significant Jewish community, the second largest provincial community in UK after Manchester, numbering over 8,000, not as large as London but they obviously made Manor & his partner very welcome as they attended many culture events held in Leeds during the season.
Solomon has Mizrahi & Ashkenazi ancestry through his parents Ayala & Yossi, who are both PE teachers in Israel who met at the famous Ohalo college, so he was bought up to understand how to lead an athletes life mentally & physically.

The interwebs make it sound like the KP return is all but complete.
Really don't know what to think of that. I also don't know if he's any better than Tanaka or Gruev and he's surely a lot, lot more expensive. Would really rather see that money used on a fresh recruit.

Negative reports circulating that Red Bulls stake in Leeds United is circa below 10 per cent after the German energy drinks company declined the opportunity to invest in the issue of 120m pounds of new shares ahead of our return to the PL then.
As the new funding has been provided by members of the 100 strong consortium of investors who bought majority control of the club under the banner of 49ers Enterprises 2 years ago.
Despite rejecting the chance to buy more shares however, Red Bulls financial commitments to Leeds will actually increase next season as the value of their shirt sponsorship deal has gone up considerably following our promotion to PL, which most media outlets forgot to mention conveniently in trying to grab news space for their bandwaggon fodder.
Savvy guys at RB & they know all leglistive loopholes highlighted in the German Football Association DFB who prohibit corporate branding in club names, therefore the Red Bull company could not rebrand SSV Markranstadt as 'Red Bull Leipzig' following the purchase of the clubs playing licence.
So to maximise their brand recognition within German Bundesliga rules they cleverly rebranded them from 'SSV Markranstadt' to 'RasenBallsport Leipzig' in 2009.
'RasenBallsport' directly translates to 'lawn ball sports' & the team became known naturally as RB Leipzig preserving the drinks companies corporate identity. 🤔
I actually checked if any shades of WHITE are very close to pure white but have slight variations in colour such as a warm white with a hint of 'RED' or a cool white with a touch of 'Blue' & there are. 🤫
But I note FA rules will protect a clubs crest & home kit colours & require any club seeking to substantially change either to consult with supporters first. 😯
In the event a club is found to be in breach of the rules the FA is able to take appropriate action such as ordering a club to revert back to a previous crest or home shirt colour combination. So I sincerely hope no added reds are placed onto our shirt embellishments as my washing machine knows reds & whites dont match, end of.
So new FA rules do put supporters at the heart of the decision making process regarding these important club heritage matters, which is great & correct, imo. Although clubs have discretion regarding away kits currently.Last edited by Monaco_Totty; 23-05-2025, 07:20 PM.
