  • The great Alan Clarke

    Hey up lads. 🍺
I've probably asked you all about him before on here haven't I.
But I'd like to say again, that he was at our match against the Hudds dog botherers on Satdy.
And yeah he's looking his age now is our Clarkie lad lol. But he's still an absolute legend. 🙂 👍
Does he still regularly come to your matches, and get on the pitch ?.

Hey Acido hope all is well

Last time I saw him on the pitch was when I was int the away end at Fulham and he was being presented to the Fulham crowd at HT as a legend. It was all terribly polite but as he walked back the Leeds fans started singing his name and he came over and gave the Lees salute.

Must have been a good 5 minutes of mutual appreciation. He looks a ****y bit like Michael Parkinson did at the age.

Helluva player / he?d be worth a fortune today.

Thanks uncle Hopey lol, I'd have bet money mate, on you being the first to reply. 😉
Alan joined us before I was a fan, in the summer of '78.
And Norman joined us as well of course in those days. And I hear Clarkie struggled to drop the white, and play in red.
As he'd been a Leeds and England player. 👍

Yeah I bet you are Hopey lad lol.
It's just a daft thing I regularly call people on message boards, regardless of their age.
You know Alfredo the Burnsley fan, I think I've called him it the most. 😁
In fact I used to call Wortley girl on here, auntie!!. 🤗
I do always appreciate your replies though, in the very few times when I do post on here now. 👍
Anyway, did you all have a good Transfer day yesterday ?.

Uncle Alf is old though suspect you could call him grandpa Alf 🤣

Window wasn?t bad all things considered.
Kicker was the board inferred more signings would be made and we went after some shiny attacking baubles non of which came off.

The key areas of weakness have been addressed. Up front if Calvert Lewin both stays fit and comes good then it will have been a good signing. If that doesn?t happen suspect we wi look back and think hmmmn

The first Leeds goal I saw at a game (back in 1974!) was scored by Sniffer as we won the First Division title.

Imagine his worth in today's market.

If you see the 1972 Cup final, when Mick Jones crosses the ball, and it goes to Clarke, you know its a goal. You dont just hope it, you KNOW its in the back of the net. Now if it was Piroe.......
