Does not mean I agree with all his tactical decisions, 'tho. But some players were not good enough & were happy to take their wedge regardless - as is their contractual right. Some moved on & some stayed put & some needed a shove.

Championship is not PL & both divisions do not accomodate maverick style free spirited types of player as its a results biz that runs on financial losses for most clubs so is coached within the bounds of low risk plays nowadays hence DF style of football you detest in truth.
My call was & is that DF has no other option as he carries the club on his shoulders via decisions of others ultimately defining his pack of cards, ok.

He plays that hand given to obtain results which you acknowledged he had done but not to your required style as a fan, which is fine by me. I also think he is genuine at his presser & openly honest too, despite the fact he aint gonna go into details about issues behind the scenes via detail - which is a credit to him & his profession, imo.

Small squads or large squads we need to keep our PL status end of by any way poss & he appears to have yet again a tightknit squad now unlike the summer.
A prior thread on here asked once 'how many additions we required if promoted' - I said 10/11 minimum & no champagne charlies plus a clear out too in a reply.

I of course wanna see a playmaker conjure up sublime skills too but am a realist & accept low risk football for now.
Burnley survived PL playing that way before going down the more attractive genre of the game with disastrous results but we are better than that, sorry Alf. But we are still presently at early doors stage squad wise. Villa served as a sleeping giant too, woke up but not so rosey again presently please note.

Possibly physical battles require low risk football & those battles, imo, require low risk football from Leeds Utd players presently as every match is gonna be a battle. But we do have the tools to now unlock games too of which should give us some hope of PL survival albeit done in survival mode football with a hint of panache now & again, H. 🤞

The Fulham forums are not relishing our visit so you wanna ask yourself why ?

I suspect they are anticipating a real battle.
Sound response. The Athletic published an article a couple of days ago stating exactly these thoughts. 49ers are only targeting escaping relegation this season.
It?s a business alright with 49ers focussed on Gen Z for the future. Revenues and values are to increase significantly over the next few years but lay to rest any thought of us. They will build and have an exit plan I think for 7 years. Not about pretty football, all about wealth generation and they won?t have any warmth towards fans only warmth for their pennies.

In the meantime, we may have a team that is not great to watch. DF has little option other than to play a style of footy most of us won?t like

I fear you are right and have a fairly similar view. Game earlier this season where you could see Longstaff wanted to hit. Longer ball and then the Farke system kicked in and hit tapped it 10 yards instead.

A lot of teams play to a system but allow players to take responsibility within that.

Clough at Forest did, we did under both Wilko and Bielsa and Fulham our next opponents do too.

However, players look to move the ball forward as the first option whereas for us it often seems to me that is not the first thought.

We aren?t getting relegated because of defense

We are getting relegated because we can?t score

I feel another KJA coming in the January window

Yet it was a defensive blunder that killed us. What will kill us is the players selected every game and the non-playing of players. James hasn't looked good going back to the last 10 games last season. Obviously, he can hardly run, so why is he playing now? He's gone for a while. FFS, get him right before you destroy him. Farke gets more baffling every week, and I warned you to get rid before it's too late. Well, it already is, as the team he has assembled isn't going anywhere.

Whether through loaning out Jospeh (I know I am probably in a minority rating him),, Rama or Crew or not replacing them with adequate quality - we are short.

We can put out a decent starting eleven but then the quality drops off.

We had to shop in the 10 to 22m bracket whereas established teams could splash 25 to 45m and bring in players with that added quality.

PSR makes what is a hard league even tougher for promoted teams.

All I can say is this guy keeps getting knocked down, but like a typical Greek, never gives up. Missing are 3 premierships with Brisbane Roar in 3 straight years, and winning a premiership in Japan, taking over a team that finished last in his first and only year there.
And we have Farke totally clueless and seems happy, but can pull the knocks on this guy unreal.https://www.facebook.com/reel/1219420843053614

Dunno how you can say Farke is clueless, his win ratio proves he isn?t. 2 seasons hindered with takeover and exodus of players? Repetitive/stubborn but until he starts losing a lot in PL he deserves some time. Thank Fk we don?t have Ange, what a boring irksome persona he has

We?re gonna be losing more than we win am sure this season, comes with the territory of promotion. Even the great Wrexham are finding that out as they have now reached the relentless Championship.
So am expecting the Farke out vibe to increase on here. ?. Be careful what we wish for?. we are not a proven PL club again just yet..

We either needed to keep Rama and Jospeh or replace them and add one more.

Think we are about 3 players light in the front third.

Farke is a numpty having said in the pre match presser he would no longer mention the transfer window pretty much the first thing he mentions and making excuses.

Speaks like he knows he is under pressure which is likely to be picked up by the squad.

I?ve never said Farke was clueless. In fact, he one of the best championship coaches ever. It?s a totally different world when you hit the prem.

I would suggest that maybe we can?t get the players we need ( ie attacking players) because they know they will struggle or not play in his system. His coaching tactics wins game in the championship. It doesn?t work in the prem

FWIW the discussion of brilliant players of our past would be irrelevant if he had been coaching them. Passing the ball back endlessly and punishing players for occasional bursts of brillant would never have allowed them to shine. In fact, even Raph would have sat the pines

We will struggle to score any goals. Even Burnley is attacking more than we are this season

We did well for most of the game, just didn’t create much. DCL should have put his header away and the OG was shocking luck. We’re not dead yet but the reality of the struggle we have ahead is evident amongst all of us.

49ers screwed up in the transfer window for sure and their reward looks like relegation at the moment.

Once confidence slips it’s hard to get positive momentum back and that generally only comes with a change of manager.
