I can't believe you so-called patriots haven't created a thread on England with cameos of Ireland, Wales, and Scotland?
Personally, I can't wait to see the Greece under-5s take on another scaLP With a secret glance at the other teams mentioned.
As they created football, especially in England. Still not sure why they did;t let the Englishman manage them after the other Englishman with another foreigner.
Anyway, good luck, all, whatever team you are barracking for.

Well, what a beautiful morning for a change.
Watching Greece winning 2 nil 16 minutes in and should be 5. To top it off, an Ozzy referee in Mr Gilette.
Commenter! I've never seen a keeper more busier than this keeper ever lol
Whoa, as I type that, 3 nil 20 minutes.
Tsimikas is unreal. Why or why didn't we sign him?

To much football 24/7 & 52 weeks a year available globally plus the emerging womens full calendar of games now too.
Never had a connection into watching England games unless a Leeds player was involved - not really my scene sat rattling a St Georges sabre, only interested in my Leeds Utd love affair, end of. 👍

I actually had a choice to have my baby in England but decided to have my child in France, regardless would still qualify to play football for France or England & the law with regards to my child conceived via the IVF process also allows said childs biological father birthplace to be calculated into national teams selection process too, such is life for todays footballing prospects. 👀

My brother also had national team choices too with France, Ireland, Lithuania, Serbia & England in his case by descent & further possible 5 years residence in any future country would add another option 😂 such are footballs bizarre rules for representation of national teams nowadays.

So thats my personal take & feel of national football presently.

Here in oz totty IVF is secret; the sperm donors are not listed as fathers, and no one usually knows who they are.

Didn?t watch. Far too much football generating far too much money for FIFA etc which appears rotten to the core. Far too many comps - Nations league a pain, far too many teams.
Now it will be even more with Women?s footy.

If you end up diluting cordial too much you get water.

Watched when Kalvin played purely coz he was Leeds

The current qualification process rarely puts together groups with any meaningful competitive games as there is usually just the one big fish with a smattering of "on a good day" red herrings and then minnows and plankton. Great experience for the latter teams, but is this what football needs or wants?

Any fixture that involves representing your country should be treated as an honour and a chance to prove yourself worthy of the badge, but it seems as if most of these games (at least for England) are matches to be successfully negotiated without picking up an injury.

You can understand why the players (mostly) seem to play that way (especially if ordered to do so by the coaching staff), but they can be hard games to watch.

That said, I quite enjoyed ROI v Hungary. At least it was genuinely competitive.

The England v Andorra game was pretty much the definition of why Americans think sarker sucks. They have a point.

                    I guess England got three...

That's it, I'm joining the rest of you and not giving a f about football lol. He left the better players out so they could make some money on the side. Farke Greece Farke England, but I wish I could get a farke lol

I suspect international football has lost its allure a lot from when many of us were younger.

The pitches were often rubbish and quite often the play not always attractive. We also didn’t have many world stars playing in the league.

The opportunity to see flair and better teams was probably what appealed and there was no internet, social media or you tube so we were relatively starved of content.

Most teams in the PL would give England a challenge and the top 6 probably comfortably beat them. There are exotic players here and there is more content to watch then there are hours in the day.

Hence I suspect why a lot will only watch the latter stages of the tournaments.

I am a bit surprised by the comments on this thread. Surely everyone on here watches the matches with a significant level of interest because they want to see if their predictions in prediction league are correct.

I think the yanks might be in a different situation that over the pond.

We don't get the 24/7 exposure to football that you do. I really look forward to Leeds playing and it's the only team I follow studiously. I do watch some of the lower league games on Paramount as well as some German football. I like the Bund 2 because it's so unpredictable. My brother jokes that teams tank on purpose when they realize they are in contention for promotion. Their "reward" of Bundesliga football is a punishing beatdown of a season!

International football is a horror show for us Yanks. Other than playing Mexico it's just a humbling experience of getting beat by countries that have less people and resources than many of our individual states here. It's really embarrassing and they seem to have little or no pride in representing.

I do think they they should limit international play to off season or Jan transfer window only. Utter rubbish that you are exposing players to injury during the season.
