  • New Signings

Hard to pick out which of them has been the best - torn between Longstaff, Gudmunson and Ofakor with Stach close behind.

Credit where credit is due they have all been good signings.

All four mentioned have been very good signings.

That really is great work on Leed's part. The whole lot of them cost much less than some individual signings in the prem.

we'd be mentioning DCL as well if he just hit his quality chances.

        Didn’t we sign 10?
        So that’s 4 and a half that’s ok.

Haven?t really seen much of Justin, Bijol or Bernauw so hard to comment on them. Perri has also been injured. DCL looks like he is a positive addition but still early days and Nmecha looks like a decent squad member.

As such, a decent window but those getting regular game time look like big upgrades and are performing.

Stach is good, but really played 2 good games where Longstaff has been exceptional. Winger looks good while the defence we have to worry about the angles of RB and CB as one doesn't defend and the other is a little slow, and most goals conceded came from their lines. As for playing with ten players every game, we'll guess we get used to it. CS, we all know our problems DCL looks ok and runs into good spaces, but the low scoring of his Everton days is back, and now we know why. All these missed early opportunities are going to cost us badly as now the league is settling in and teams find their feet, it's going to be a real battle starting with Burnley.

I have no clue why Newcastle let Longstaff go for as little as they got.

injuries and suspensions plus the current international calendar will stretch all our squads capacity through a hard long season..........particularly playing Farkeball............ so all will have a part to play as Jan window may be another tight wallet affair.......

Players are unhappy. From Tanaka to Bijol and the others so that's not a good way to go if as you say injuries form tactics they never get a look in. I heard Bijol already wants out. He stuffed up James for good the guy can't walk alone run. He will play his favs and that's it. You watch the new keeper come straight back in and his useless.

Hopefully, they will get game time but the more they voice unhappiness the more likely Farke will take it as dissent and keep them out until there is an injury.

It?s surely something the club can work on with him.

Can only play 11, I don’t hear Liverpool players moaning, apart from arronsson I’d say he’s playing his best 11, only my view though, I’m sure others see different.

The majority of our goals have come against Strujik. It's a team sport so obviously he's not the only culprit but does seem odd that we don't give Bijol a run. He has a strong pedigree and is a physical specimen. He's going to have some rust on him now since he's sat so long.

Big coaching error from my point of view.

Both goals against spurs did indeed come off struik and his slowness to close down, so I suppose a change there would be appropriate.

Both Tanaka and Bijol complaining about a lack of minutes. Farke has to show he can manage this just as other clubs rotate squads he needs to be more flexible.

players need to be physically and tactically equipped to handle different roles and systems...... but not all players possess this versatility....... some may say fewer changes lead to more consistent performances..... fine line squad rotation..... yes it is important to keep players fit...... but making too many changes can mess with team chemistry.....
maybe we have to many like for like and not enough variables to throw into the mix ?

we have the joint 14th youngest age squad in this seasons Premier League....... at 26.4 average age.
squad size 26...of which Farke has played 21 players so far.

youngest squad is Chelsea......average age is 23.4
squad size 31...... of which Maresca has played 26 players so far..... even he is bristling at suggestions that his future is under scrutiny right now....and many on here moaned about Bielsa only having a small squad of 18............

the maximum size for a Premier League senior squad is 25 players...... with no more than 17 players not classified as a homegrown player........ but clubs can submit an unlimited number of players under the age of 21.....who do not count towards this 25 player limit.... so they can be registered as well.

as for young players been given a chance......
only 188 minutes for 19.5 year old Archie this season playing 4 competitions....... consisting of 72 cameo minutes in PL...... 8 minutes in 1 CL appearance......18 minutes in UEFA Super cup.....and a full 90 minutes run out in EFL cup....... playing right side midfield against Doncaster Rovers......wonder if he is happy ?

Gnonto 107 apperances for Leeds and 19 goals at 21 years old..... played 24 Premier League appearance in 22/23 and 2 more this season to date....... with 79 in Champions plus a few grumbles along the way as well.
