On 9 May 1993, Newcastle ended their promotion season with a 7-1 win.

This was the last match of the season in which Newcastle had already sealed promotion back to the big league - one year after narrowly avoiding relegation to the old Third Division.

It was during this season that Keegan's Newcastle were named and became known as The Entertainers.

Can you name the opposition, the two hat-trick scorers, and the match date?

Bonus for mentioning who scored the one goal not scored by one of the hat-trickers.

Can't remember the exact date, or who scored the single goal, but the hat tricks were by Andy Cole and David Kelly v Leicester and it was Gavin Peacock's farewell match.

Nice idea, Hughie. I was there-the Andy Cole song went on for almost the entire game.

As said, Cole and Kelly. The other one was Lee Clark, I think.

Whoops - already gave the date away in original question.

As expected, you're combined answers are all correct - Cole x3, Kelly x3 and Lee Clark x1 goal(s), and it was against the mighty Leicester.
