  • The league table

I traditionally never look at the table until after 10 matches however we are 9 in and to be honest looking at the clubs that are up there I?m really disappointed to see us where we are.

I think getting back into the champions league should be our top priority above anything else. We need the revenue from that to grow.

Gonna be a strange old season, I reckon.

Injuries are going to be our achilles heel (to coin an apt phrase) and teams we were ahead of last season have picked up massively.

Be surprised if we got 5th, tbh.

Newcastle United's slow start to the season is well documented and debated.

12th currently, yes, however, 6 pts / 2 wins off 2nd place as we near the 10 game mark.

Bournemouth and Sunderland are both punching well above their weight. The mackems most notably.

The higher the are the further they will fall. Ask Slot's binmen how that feels.

Our 10th game of the season is West Ham Away, an easy 3 points you would imagine. However, it's another opportunity for the lads to improve their inter-play and team work.

We've seen short periods of fluidity so far this season but the team haven't been fluid for 90mins.

I'm sure with more games they'll get there. We're only gonna get stronger as a team and squad with Ramsey getting back to full fitness & Wissa rejoining the squad in the coming weeks.

The only way is up for us. The unity in the squad is the strength that will propel the lads up the league.

As we are seeing with other teams there is descent in the ranks and people are not happy.

Our next league opponents are the perfect example of a total mess.

Our next opponents, Spurs, were, once again Lauded by the Press and everyone in the media as pulling off the 'Thomas Frank Coup'.

That honeymoon didn't last very long did it? Starting to sink like a stone. Slomanik the Donkey is up for sale... 50m quid for that clown... shocking business...

The same doom and gloom mob who were fuming all summer about transfers got there mouths shut by the day the window closed, are now whining about 12th 9 games in. All 6 of the signings have and will improve us by game 38 we will be in the knocking for a Champions League place and no doubt remain competitive in all 3 of the cup competitions.

It's a nice check point but 10 games in just that, a check point. The finish line is a long way down the road.

Past performance is a valuable data point for making predictions, but it should not be used as the sole predictor.

It is more accurate to consider past performance alongside other factors like willingness to adapt, current skills, and the specific context of the future situation.

The new signings, using behavioral psychological support, which Eddie's team does, to get specific examples is more useful than simply looking at the loss of a key player (that's going well for his new company / club) as the down fall of our success.

It's gonna be a tough old battle, everyone is gonna beat everyone else is appears this season.

Brentford beating the binmen for example. Mackems beating Chelsea at the bridge.

The competition is fierce. One thing about Eddie Howes team is that 8/10 times they are fighters, the intensity is building back as Nick joins the high press.

In summary - The current state of affairs is indeed tumultuous. The only team showing early season is perpetual bottlers Arsenal. Everything else is still to play for!

5th or better is still very much GAME ON! Howay the lads!

I'm disappointed by the slow start to the season, but not surprised and not at all worried.
The Isak disaster meant that we had a terrible summer. We've now got a very strong squad, but having a lot of late signings meant that they hadn't enough time to gel before being thrown into important matches. Then the injury to Wissa has been a big blow. We've defended pretty well, by and large. I'm not surprised that we've been below par in attack. No Wissa, and Woltemade is an unusual type of forward.

I can only see things improving from here. As the team settles, I reckon our goal tally will pick up a lot. And we're only 4 points behind 5th place. I'm quietly confident that we can secure a Champions League place again.

To think we started the season without a striker.

And even now, without our No1 frontman Wissa as we hit the 10 game mark.

All the disruption caused by Liverpool hit us early on but our more recent form across all competitions isn?t looking bad at all for a team in transition.

We were planning with Isak up front
          Then Wissa
          Now it?s Woltemade

We have additional European trips too this season - and we haven?t lost a game after playing in Europe - that has to be a positive.

I think I?ll give the guys 38 league games to show what they can do this season then make judgement.

We started last season slow as well.

Not at all worried, in fact I expect big things from us this season. Wolte is already proving himself succesful and Wissa will be a quality addition. Great times ahead, the best to come!

Yes - it?s been slow. At the start of last season we seemed to pick up points by playing poorly and it?s been almost the opposite in this one.
I agree, though, the general feeling at the moment is optimism eventhough the current volume of games is taking its usual toll.
