  • Ivan Toney

some ITK people on ****ter are saying we are trying to seal a deal for him.

No journalists are speaking on about this yet so probably crap.

Personally i cant see it happening, he is on 400k a week, will cause all sorts of issues with him

being at a PIF owned club. He's more of a static target man than an Isak type player

I'd rather get Wissa and go for Sesko,

cheeky bid for Paquetta if he gets off with match fixing, another shot at Guehi maybe.

Also seen Man City might be after Donnaruma. If thats true, Trafford will be fuming, so maybe loan with option to buy

I've actually heard that City are preparing to offer Trafford on loan to us

IF they get Donnaruma and Costa - he'll be seething.

But if this clause in contract is true that he had no choice but to go there if they matched the bid then not a lot he could do - although he is a fool for allowing that in his transfer move.

aye from what i understand, there were 2 clauses in his contract which were time sensitive.

1 was first refusal to match a bid (which expired an hour after they made a bid)

the other one was a mandatory buy back if they matched the bid, so the lad had no choice.

Pretty daft on his part like.

Its certainly going to be a big week for us, PIF need to go hard and bring in players instead of haggling over a few quid

The Toney boat has sailed. Would rather get Wissa and Sesko in regardless with what happens with Isak.

We have enough games to feed all the mouths and If Isak goes for the right fee to the right club then we are covered - or an agreement for a bonus now, payrise, min transfer/ get out fee for next season then all good, we let him go then. He will be motivated in a WC year. Its not an irredeemable but action is required now along with transfers in. To be fair GK and JL back up maybe aren't urgent right now but its worth remembering that prices won't be getting any lower in January or next summer.

The optics for our other stars is also worth bearing in mind.

As mentioned Toney, is a no for me.

We really need to get strikers in before we get money from transfers. I completely agree. I can see us signing Sesko the Wissa thing dragging on, and getting done in the last days of the window and Liverpool's dirty tricks failing to work and Isak staying for another year. We end up with 3 strikers. Scored bag fulls of goals, run City the eventual title winners close, finish 2nd or 3rd, go deep in both domestic cups and reach the Quarters or Semi's of the Champions League.

Making Isak regret his decision. Potentially want to remain.

Rare to do business of any quality in Jan. It is a World Cup Year, as you said, so maybe players who aren't playing might want to force moves in Jan and there will be some quality players available.

JL? What JL? Joelinton, I'm guessing.

We have been told that we have no financial issues its been a matter of doing the deals not the money. So, with the PIF team headed by Sheikh Yasir reportedly flying in to resolve the transfer issues, it will be a case of 'one and done', they want to do all the business. Which could see the 3-5 players through the door in a week.

We'll have to see what transpires.
