  • Ramsdale to sign on loan with an 'Option' to buy

Reported today by The Athletic?s David Ornstein

Sizable loan fee & NUFC to cover the players full salary, mooted to be 120,000 quid a week.

I guess Eddie will have his work cut out making this lad the best version of himself.

I think this is a big positive. He's a really good 'keeper albeit maybe not as consistently as you might wish.

Plus, a loan frees up funds for replacements elsewhere.

    Decent business, imo.

Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer; the 27-year-old has been given permission to travel for a medical, which will take place on Wednesday

      Sky Sports reported it.

It means that we have lots of money to spend else where as you said Zip.

My assumption that we'll start doing business now Sheikh Yasir in town seems to be coming to Fruition.

We should see a raft of new signings through the door in the coming week.

If Eddie Howe can turn Murphy is the player he is then I'm sure he make Ramsdale the player Arsenal paid 50m quid for.

I'm fine with this. Has been promising enough to break into England a few times. Has had big transfers as well.
He's a good backup and has more of a chance of taking the shirt from Pope than Dubs.

            Depends who's gonna leave.

Pope linked with the filth. Dubz was part of the deal for Trafford apparently. Now that's off I dunno if he's gonna stay or go.

We can't have 6 goal keepers.

You'd hope it was just Pope, Ramsdale, Ruddy, Gillespie - but who is taking the other two...

Dubs will be off - 100% and Vlad it has been reported widely we're looking o loan him out.

Who is taking them . . . not sure but I'm very confident they'll be off.

With regards this deal - I was against it but actually, in hindsight - when we first got Pope it was a toss up between him and Ramsdale, so I think this could be a great deal.

He's now flying out to South Korea for a medical and to meet squad.

Nice to see someone keen to join us.
