  • Why didn't the club contract Nick Hammond again?

Knowing full well that Mitchell was out the door and Eales as much use as a F**king eel in the transfer market. It baffles me that they didn't contract Nick Hammond once again to help share the load and ensure targets were secured?

Yet again serious levels of incompetence above Eddie.

In their first transfer window after the Saudi-led takeover, Newcastle United utilized Nick Hammond as a temporary consultant to advise the owners on player acquisitions and financial aspects of deals. Specifically, Hammond's role was to help the newly formed team navigate the challenging January 2022 transfer window.

      Don't think it's owners.

Owners have a board to do this - what they have always said.

It's board who has ****ed up, partly because we don't seem to have anyone left on it who has us a focus, rest of board have several other jobs/board etc.

What's clear is that Eddie has been let down massively so far.

Thing is, he didn't throw his toys out of the pram and refuse to go on tour or get his agent to leak that he wanted to explore other options.

Primarily because he's a man of honour.

        Not a greedy, mercenary cunt.

Eales The Shields Gazette reported on a ?21 million deal agreed by Darren Eales. is reported to be earning 21m quid a year.

You expect a man with his back ground on that kind of money to be laser focused on details. At that level you need to be leading and driving the department heads, focusing on blockers and mitigating issues. Frocasting, planning to resolve challenges before they arise.

Agreed - his mitigation is he was ill - maybe iller than we knew or he let on.

But that is on him and the board, regardless of what he wanted the board should have pushed for a replacement rather than letting him run the pace etc.

He should have stepped away and gone on gardening leave. 10 months it's been since he was diagnosed and the news broke of his illness. that's last September. He should have been sidelined before the new year.
