Agreed we could be out but it would then give Eddie the time he craves on training field and it may turn season around in league.Originally posted by MidsMagpie View PostThings have certainly gone stale this season and the season could be over next month lose to Man City and Bournemouth in the cups.
Jan is going to be hte biggest month for us in a long time I think.

Just the 9 games in the month of January this year then. Only away against the league champions and the european champions, cup semi, fa cup and a ***** match vs PSV !!!

I get the feeling that the Board and owners are not even entertaining the idea of going. In terms of who the owners are and how they generally operate business-wise.Originally posted by toptoon View PostYoure not wrong there.

From a top down view Sheikh Yasir and his team will know that there were mistakes made during the summer that was in their responsibility.
Add that fact that Eddie suffered pneumonia and should have had a decent summer break to recover fully only to be thrown back into the chaos of Mitchell leaving and Eales being on the longest victory lap/good bye tour of the SJP offices there is a certain amount of ownership of the current plight.
Any talk of Eddie going is a waste of time. Eddie will have the rest of the season as a minimum. Should it end outside the top 8, no trophies and no Europe, then their might be a conversation.
So...
To January, as you side Tops 9 games. The time in the season where the Arsenal tradition of completely bottling their lead/title challenge and capitulate across the board.
It's period where Pep's Man City slip into 4th gear and quietly, consistently turn on the press and open up a seemingly effortless gap to 2nd place. No doubt that by the 1st of Feb the Citizens will have a similar 4-6pt cushion.
In a similar fashion the last few seasons have seen Eddie Howe's teams turn the corner and form to pick up. Finding some consistency and putting strings or results together.
The best evidence is past performance. Based on what we're seen during Eddie's Reign as manager is pretty similarly poor first half season performances in Premier League.
Everyone is whining that the team has not progressed. We're in the same position more or less as last season but that's whilst also playing 2 game a week and flying all over Europe. So in terms of improvement, being consistently inconsistent whilst increasing the match count by 10-12 matches has got to be a factor when discussing things.
and Now for something completely different (but the same)
the transfer window.
Money is available. There are targets. The Brazilian season is over. There are some quality out there that the Mango has covered on his channel. The latest is Breno Biden from Corinthians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEe1evCC5W8
The need for more creativity is apparent.
It' gonna be interesting to see how things pan out over the 4-5 weeks. Let's hope that the poor performances and miserable away results can be improved starting at Burnley.
HWtLs!
