Matt Targett is such an odd one. Prior to joining NUFC he was Villa's player of the season. In that transition season he out performed Digne, yet, found himself playing understudy and took the loan option to move to Newcastle. He was great in his loan period. Provided a 6.5/7 out of 10 every time his played.

Some bad injuries and serious bout of Eczema befell the lad and everything moved on. Good luck to him down at Boro, sadly not gonna see him in a B&W shirt again.

Speaking of Digne. There is a trend of prem clubs buying in continental full backs who are hyped beyond belief. Digne, like Dalot at the filth & Porro spuds are, woeful players yet every time I have the misfortune to end up watching any of those teams the nonsense that the commentary team spout about those clowns is unfathomable. I don't know what these idiots are watching half the time.

Regardless, a smart signing in Jan of Dayann Mathalie would be a great addition.

Giving Hall a rest and enabling rotation with a player of equally high potent to keep Lewis in tip top condition and ensure his career progression is not dented by injuries.

Another silver lining would be that having this lad in as an option would mean Dan Burn at Left Back would be a thing of the past and the big man can focus on the LCB role.

Multiple sources here and in France reporting that it is anticipated Newcastle will make an approach for Dayann Methalie, Toulouse?s left-back who can also play left-sided centre-back.

The 19-year-old is liked by all inside St James? Park due to his athleticism, how comfortable on the ball he is and his versatility. They would see his addition as accelerating summer plans.
