Eddie Howe is out of his depth.. he has too much pwer and that is why we go through DoF like pringles..

His nephew hasnt got a clue and has openly admitted he only watches Premier League football, as long as Eddie has full control of transfers this is a sign of the times..

Either employ a proper DoF who has control or sack Eddie Howe.. put it this way, if we dont get top 6 next season Eddie is gone

Eddie has taken this club to new levels with limited player material.

We need a setup 'above' him (sporting director, technical director etc.) that can support and enhance the development of the team under Eddie's management.

We had that above him and it shows that Eddie doesnt want to work with them.. there is something else going on..

I agree that Eddie has done wonders but hes out of his depth with transfers.. I don't trust him with transfers

Newcastle United are at a pivotal crossroads; juggling the demands of Champions League ambitions while staying within the constraints of Financial Fair Play. After last season's progress, expectations naturally rose. But so far, this transfer window has been disappointing, and frankly, verging on disastrous. We could really use a stroke of luck.

The overall activity in the market has been underwhelming, especially given the glaring gaps in the squad that need addressing. While I do appreciate that the club seems to be avoiding panic buys and instead focusing on long-term sustainability, the current outcome is worrying. Smart strategy is only useful if it translates into actual squad improvement and right now, that's not happening.

The signing of Anthony Elanga was a strong move, he adds much-needed pace and depth on the left flank, an area we've struggled with. But letting Sean Longstaff go without securing a proper replacement feels like poor planning. His departure leaves a midfield hole we haven't filled.

Financial Fair Play is clearly influencing our decisions, and while that's understandable, other clubs appear to be navigating it more effectively than we are. That's a concern.

The Isak situation is another blow. Whether it's unfortunate timing or a missed opportunity to secure him to a new contract earlier, it reflects a lack of forward planning. These are the moments where strong, proactive leadership makes the difference.

Eddie Howe needs a proper sporting structure above him, a Director of Football actively managing the recruitment process and scouting. Expecting him to juggle everything is unrealistic, and it's starting to show. I sincerely hope this doesn't affect our owners? enthusiasm or commitment to the long-term project but it might be time for them to rethink the way things are run behind the scenes.

Right now, I feel baffled, confused, frustrated and at times even angry. Whether it's mismanagement or simply bad luck, it's starting to feel like we're being sabotaged, even if unintentionally. Newcastle deserves better and the fans have every right to demand answers.

        Sorry rant over.

Rant away man. It's about that time!

All the fun has been sucked out of the off season.

What Eddie has achieved since joining. Attracting the likes of Bruno, Tonali & Isak, Botman etc. Proves the club and team can get things done when they have a negoitator/closer on team. Not since Amanda left have we had that in position. Either Eales' illness or Mitchells perceived apathy for the targets and strategy lead to an unwilling and umotivated DoF with his own ideas feeling like he was being undermined.

A man who's never stayed in a job more than 2 yrs was never gonna spearhead our 5 yr development plan.

That's water under the bridge. The frame work for the current predicament.

However, that can not be blamed in totality for the shower of a window the club have experienced thus far.

          My thoughts on things.

When we did the Bruno deals etc 2 things were clear.

          1. We still weren't seen as a serious threat. The cartel thought that it would be containable.

With their attention being focused else where, we were able to do good business quickly and quietly. None of those deals were played out in public.

          2. We needed to recruit for every position and the cartel were pretty well stocked.

The targets we went for were the 'nearly men', the ones who were 2 seasons away from world class about to have their break out season.

Bruno, Isak, Botman are all there now. Tonali was joining more advanced in his progression and matched the other guys level.

The all grew together. This season the plan was to add the next level of players to match our current squad without having a development gap.

Before the Ekitike deal the media were freaking out. They had us as outside title contenders. The dark horse. :

Like Leicester, 'Never again', the cartel couldn't allow that to happen.

So they got everything, all systems UP.

All agents. UP. All contacts informed 'If Newcastle reach out to sign your player or reach out to your agency we want to know immediately. We want all the details.

          All media outlets UP.

Meaning that all our business, executed in swift silence previously was never going to be possible once the machine slipped into top gear.

So this is the situation as it stands.

Like him or loath him Simon Jordan made an interesting comment 'Time for Newcastle United to pull on their big boy pants and make statements.

I'd go in deep and hard for Paqueta (we all know he's a top quality player not the betting BS is behind him) or Oihan Sancet (17 goals last season for Bilbao) & Amir Richardson or Mahamadou Doumbia for the two Midfield additions.

At this point, Woltemade's move to Bayern looks to be at grindlock. Stuttgart want a lot more money that Bayern aren't prepared to pay.

Stuttgart want 55m Euro. Bayern don't want to pay more than 45m Euro.

We've put in bids for players at 80m Euro. The smart play in a 60m Euro bid which is well above the 55m Stuttgart want & Bayern would have to pay well over their price.

The lad is better than anything left. He's better than Sesko TBH. It's the better deal.

Paqueta, Amir Richards & Woltemade would the three I'd go for.

I don't think that is fair to be honest.

Eddie has worked with the hand that been dealt to him each time.

It is hardly his fault that having been here from the beginning he is trusted by the ownership and then delivers for them.

Whilst the SD that are hired end up betraying the ownership.

This new SD coming in from Forest has worked with Howe before and they already have a good releationship, so hopefully that will sort that issue.

I don't disagree with anything you've said but I don't have faith in our recruitment team to make those deals or similar deals quickly or quietly. We could have had Wissa, Trafford, Thiaw, maybe even Ekitike if we acted quickly. Instead, we dragged our heals and watched what other teams were doing.

Chelsea got Delap and Pedro. Man Utd got Sesko and Cunha. Are you telling me not one of those players would have been interested in joining if we went in as soon as the Isak situation happened?

We've dragged our heels all summer long - the exact opposite of what we said we'd do.

I don't blame Eddie Howe at all. I think him, the current players and the supporters are all this club have at the moment. No senior leadership or communications from ownership anywhere to be seen.

Don't be shocked to see Isak go without a replacement and Osula leading the line with a Wilson replacement in before the window shuts. This next weeks Eddie will be "concentrating on preparing the players for Villa away" - no time to think about recruitment.

I don't have faith that they can close deals. They don't have a negotiator/closer. It's like an F1 team putting the test driver or mechanic because they don't have a driver.

The reason it worked will with Amanda and Mehrdad are both career negotiators and major business people.

Also we had the consultant Nick Hammond around the negotiations to guide in those early windows.

What Eales set Eddie and the guys up to fail after his boy Mitchell bailed and he was on his way out with illness.

Hammond should have been drafted back in when the CEO knew full well that the DoF was on his bike.

                We still have 3 week.

Thiaw looks like it's gonna happen. Wissa still looks likely to come in to replace Wilson.

                There are links to midfielders.

If the Sesko transfer has taught us anything, it's that having a 'football man' like Nick Hammond in the negotiation group that players are more responsive.

Regardless. Should we not sign a striker, Isak doesn't leave.

Even if we do get 2 in I'd still not sell him to Liverpool. PSG maybe but no one in England.

Totally agree. But I dont want that replacement to be Wissa.

                    He's the Wilson replacement.

Either he knuckles down for one last season with Wissa/A nother in or we need to get 2 in if he goes.

...OT. just watching Papiss Cisse goal against Chelsea and some of the other ones he got that defied physics.

He was better thsn Isak that season.

Isak more consistent on pure numbers.

Cisse just couldn't miss in that 6 month period. Everything he hit went in.

It was at the cost of Ba, who, didn't score such insane goals, however, I am guessing but I recon he was more consistent over the course of his time in a toon shirt.

the 7m release clause was just ridiculous. Chelsea would and should of paid 20+m for him. Saying that it wouldn't have gone back in on players but on fatso's crazy bender only to be vomited into a fireplace.

Out of his depth! All they have to do is get the back room staff sorted and let Eddie get on with what he does best. The blokes a genius to get so much out of this bunch of players.
