Is it just me, but does he look like not 100% committed?
Does he see himself in NUFC shirt 1-2 years from now?

I liked the lad, but if his head is turned may be the best for both parties is to split ways this summer. His contract is up in what, 2 years?

I made this comment in the group chat during the match - "0 shots on target Gordon doesn't look interested at all"

Arsenal are the latest cartel member to be interested. If they pony up with 80-100m off he goes.

Hasn't scored a league goal in over a year, now, from open play, take away the penalties and let Woltemade take them, the lad has contributed nothing.

People complain about Nick not being a No.9, Newcastle United being inconsistent, Eddie should be sacked etc.

The numbers from last year to this from Gordon have fallen off a cliff. As with Murphy. Both have seriously let the team down.

With the Meatball's defection, it shifted to the other senior players to take up the slack. Gordon has failed in that.

We all know his head was shot to pieces over the LiVARpool thing a few summers back.

Maybe he's never really got over that.

Either way, he's not playing like he used to and that does need to be considered.

I just don't know. Howe defends him and points to the stats around team play / off the ball work etc. However, the position is one which assists and goals count.

Again, this season the Premier League is dower in general. Bus parking, long balling, deep lying anti-football is the fashion.

Technical quality is down across the board. I watched all of the top 3 side this weekend, all of them were toothless.

I didn't look at a single club and feel any sort of envy or admiration for the way they played.

I also didn't think the like of the filth deserved credit for the garbage, dirty, creative-less, dull negative football those clowns churned out to get the win v a City who were as clueless as NUFC were today.

Credit to Everton for their win at Villa Park today. That shows that this Emery hype is just that. All hot air.

This all adds weight to my "The lack of quality in the Premier League this season" Thread.

Every team is Sh!te, the Prem is a really hype job, the commentary is so over blown these days with their verbose and elaborate sycophantic babblings just grinds on me when their words, in no way, match what I'm seeing with my own eyes.

        Pure "IN-GAME" Gaslighting.

The likes of Gordon have fell off a cliff. Even with No.14 leaving the rest of the attackers in the squad's have not maintained their levels. It would be far less negative had this lad hadn't been so poor.

He's not scored in open play in the league for over 1 whole year now.

Barnes has score 11 over the same period.

Anthony needs to get his head in the right place and quickly or summer, I'd not be disappointed to see him leave.

With a superb World Cup behind him a big European team like Bayern Munich could come a calling.

80m quid, double the money. Singed in 2023 - 45m with add-ons, new contract signed 2024 his amortised value in the summer will be

              45 / 5 = 9. After 1 year his value was 36m quid

              36 / 5 = 7.2. 36 - 7.2 = 28.8m quid

              So a sale of 80m would net a PSR/SCR profit of 80 - 28.8 = 51.2m quid

That's good business should Gordon's form remain as ineffectual for the rest of the season

Yeah, you're probably right, but clubs are paying stupid prices these days.

Gordon's an English player and an England international. Wirtz was 116m, I still can't understand that.

He's probably not worth 80m but it's not beyond the realms of fantasy to see him moving for 80. Should Woolwich & the Bindip compete for his signature. Who knows.

Each world cup goal could add 10 mln to his price. And hie might pkay his socks off in internatonals. And if England does good, he plays here and there, 80 mln is possible. Someone paid 55 mln for Elanga and Wissa, after all!

I don't see a player who isn't bothered. I see a player who has completely lost all belief that he can beat two men and get a goal in open play. He needs to get back that belief if he is to fulfill his potential here.

That's an interesting perspective mate, I didn't consider that. You might have a point. He's playing like a man who's over thinking things.

Do you recon the onus of the notion that he's supposed to be shouldering the rat's responsibility is making him 2nd guess himself?

Right back at ya - it could be that Isak leaving has impacted his game and thus his self-confidence. Maybe the partnership with Wolte/Wissa just isn't up and running yet.

I think he needs to score a goal or two from an inside forward position or something. It's the only cure!

Was he the only one who spoke publicly after b&w #14 downgrade to red #9? Something like supporting him and wishing him well

It was said that it split the camp, so it might be that he kinda feels on his own
