  • NUFC vs PSG

    Who knows.

    Genuinely, who fucking knows.

We are capable of going there and winning but, for that, we'd have to be at the top of our game and have all of our key players not only playing but playing at the top of their arc.

But...against the current champions, with the players we have missing and with those that are playing, playing well below their best and with our away form stinking the place out...

Well...we may pull something out of the bag and if anyone could (the italics are important here) come up with a plan to beat them, it's Eddie.

    Hopeful but not expectant.

Odd line up. All 3 scorers against PSV dropped. I suppose it's a vote of confidence for other players but it would give the opposition something to think about having 2 of the top scorers starting.

Newcastle United: Nick Pope, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Sandro Tonali, Malick Thiaw, Anthony Elanga, Nick Woltemade, Joe Willock, Dan Burn (c), Jacob Ramsey, Lewis Miley

Substitutes: Aaron Ramsdale, Aidan Harris, Kieran Trippier, Yoane Wissa, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Will Osula, Jacob Murphy, Alex Murphy, Bruno Guimar?es, Leo Shahar

If I was Harvey Barnes, I'd be furious at not starting every single match.

        Barnes being dropped is pathetic.

Especially with it not being Willock's natural position. 3-4-3 it looks like.

5-4-1 off the ball? Maybe we'll be the one's to play low block this time.

ha but think of the subs..maybe lull PSG into a false of security..hold on for a draw until 50/60 minute them wham them with Barnes & Gordon. My positive slant on the line up!!!

But he was crap last match and we've all said that Howe won't drop players even when they play badly.

So surely this is progress, he played badly and has been dropped.

Now I've had time to look at line up, I quite like it - it's so utterly unpredictable that it might cause an upset. Plus bringing on Gordon and Barnes when they are tired to run at them, with Wissa to poach. . . could be a genius move.

I see Joe Cole says "I think taht Newcastle will get slapped". Lets prove the ****er wrong.
