  • Jamaal Lascelles will undergo a medical at Leicester City

Latest from Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett, Mark McAdam & Keith Downie:

Newcastle have given Jamaal Lascelles permission to undergo his Leicester medical and discuss personal terms after the club agreed for him to move on.

The 32-year-old has had limited game time at Newcastle and is out of contract in the summer.

Leicester look to have won the race to sign Lascelles baring any last minute hitches after a number of Championship clubs expressed an interest in the defender.

Lascelles is the current Newcastle captain having been at the club since his arrival from Forest in August 2014.

In his 11 years he’s made over 250 appearances.

    ----

A great servant of the club. A true hero of the dark days. Nothing but love for Jamal for everything he did for us.

I wish him nothing but the very best going forward in his new career challenge. I do hope they can arrange a testimonial for the lad in the summer. He certainly deserves one.

Lascelles has officially left the building.

Some more wages off the bill for summer I guess.

Yep, thanks for the service but it's a 50k a week off the wage bill.

End of the season there's the rest of the potential savings.

            Great servant to the club.

Wish him the very best at Leicester. Him lifting the Cup was an absolutely brilliant way for him to end his career here.

              Ruddy - 15
              Gillespie - 15
              Krafth - 55

              Total - 85,000 a week

Defo unless one of those two legends keeps their 15 a week bench warming position.

Ramsdale - 120. He really hasn't done enough to earn a permanent deal.

I think Schar gets an extension.

Trips will chose if he stays or goes I recon. Let's count that as a departure too.

              we'll keep Gillespie.

              85 - 15 = 70 + 120 (Rambo) + 120 (Tripz) = 410,000 a week. If Tripz stays 290,000 a week.

Either way it's a serious chunk of change.

Just double checked. Harrison Ashby is also out of contract too. He's on 15,000 a week too.

So 310k a week off the wage bill.

              It all adds up

Funnily enough - you're counting Trips in.

                I think he'll leave.

                One last contract elsewhere.

Which would mean almost 450K a week free for wages that isn't included on what we look at now.

That is pretty decent . . . or wages for 2 absolute quality players - who we'll need CL for and I suspect we won't have it.
