Good to see Elanga scoring hopefully that will be the boost he needed.

Good for Elanga, it was a decent goal and a quality finish.

No shame in going out against a team who brought on 450m substitutes on in Haaland, Cherki & oh, yeah, Former ballon d'or winner Rodri.

The reality of this season was always gonna a difficult one.

Went to the Semi Final. Again. In the 2nd half Wissa missed a sitter, and there were at least 3or4 other good chances. With a world class striker (lost in the summer) this game and the rest of the season would e completely different.

Eales bringing in the destructive figure in Mitchell and then letting him bail days before 2025 Summer transfer window when the manager, just recovering from Pneumonia, 2 days into his summer holiday.

People seem to think that with a budget 45% smaller than the teams NUFC are now directly in competition, with constant and repeated instability in the executive positions at the club that it's inacceptable that the team isn't populated with the absolutely best players in the league, that every transfer is the perfect transfer, the team should be capable of winning across 4 competitions, whilst at the same time throwing a toddler level fit should the manager decided to do anything they, sat in arm chair, with zero professional experience in football management, disagree with and scream for a man with over 700 professional games experience be sacked.

Success is never linear. It's always gonna be peaks and troughs.

Last 4 of the competition that brought the first silverware in over 50 yrs and 7 decades in domestic terms, is no shame.

Ask the Palace fans how they feel about getting humped at the first time of asking in their defence of the FA to a minnow?

One less competition to worry about.

As with the FA cup. A battling loss to Villa will suit me just fine.

A decent run in the UCL where every win is now worth over 10million quid and enhances the prestige of the club on the global stage with a improvement in the League do to more rest days and time of the training ground should see the customary strong finish to the season Eddie's teams are known for.

That said, even if that isn't the case. So what?

This isn't the last days of Rome. It's the end of the beginning of the new empire.

We're in a good place. Solid people in the important positions and a long term strategy that will in time yield results.

      Living, winning and learning.
