So just seen the laws of the game.

If a player is pushed into an offside position by the opposing team, then the goal usually counts, unless the attacking player commits a foul.

Burn did none of that, so by the laws of the game - his goal should have stood.

Burn looks like he's enjoying his ongoing battle with Haaland, who, to be fair, looks like he's enjoying it as well.

Although surprised he hasn't been done for that pull on Halaand's shirt

          We're still in this!

          Haven't created any chances, though.

Good effort and no disgrace. We can beat these in the cup.

              Aye.

We deserved something there to be honest.

Well .. even though we didn't really create a chance in that second half, I think we gave a good account of ourselves.

                No shame tonight.

                  I'll just leave this here.

Premier League wins are directly related to the wage spend.

Newcastle wage spend is 8th. So every season Eddie has got the team to finish above 8th is overachieving.

If Elanga looked up and played Gordon in it'd have been 2-2.

Oh and once again, the PGMOL officials don't even know their own rules &/or intentionally ruled out a completely legitmate goal by Burn.

                  the laws of the game.

Anyway, glad City are gonna go on to beat Arsenal who, I'll be hoping choke at Spuds later today.

Under Law 11 (Offside) and Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct) of the International Football Association Board, a player cannot be penalised for offside if they were pushed there by an opponent.

                    How referees handle it

If a defender pushes or holds an attacker, causing them to move into an offside position, the referee should:
                    1. Penalise the push/hold (a foul under Law 12), and
                    2. Restart with a direct free kick (or a penalty kick if it occurred inside the defender?s penalty area).

The offside offence would not be given because:

                    - Offside position is judged at the moment a teammate plays the ball.
                    - If the attacker?s position resulted from a foul, the foul takes priority.

The argument about whether the ball was in play or not doesn't count either.

                    - Foul/Penalty Awarded (No Offside): If the defender pushes the attacker into an offside position before the ball is played, and that push is considered a foul (careless, reckless, or using excessive force), the foul is penalised because it occurred before any potential offside offence.

If this happens inside the penalty area, the referee should award a penalty kick.

Basically . . . yet again, for the 3rd game in a row with prem refs and the PGMOL we get screwed over on a ***** decision.

But there is no agenda. . . **** off.

                        Basiclally Jamz yeah.

It's a clear agenda this season to ensure that all decisions go against us. This is orchestrated, as part of a larger plan to control, delay, block and ultimately deter the Newcastle United owners from pushing the club forward to compete with the cartel clubs.

It was bad enough when it was 6 in for UCL players but Spurs were the poor relative and the scraps made it some what interesting.

However, including Villa, 8 certainly doesn't go into 5.

The Prem's war on City using this financial controls shows that even a club established as a threat before the strangling rules, yet still the Cartel have pressured the powers that be into spending north of 50Million Quid on legal fees on the witch hunt which the will fail to win due to the rules being written by the football equivalent of the cast of mean girls. It's a shoddy patch work of nonsense contrived to restrict competition and protect the red 3's delusion that they are pre-ordained to rule over the Premier League with impunity.

We'll not be stopped. Hopkinson has a big job on his hands with regard to revenue increase and growing the club finances at a more rapid rate than the cartel to close the gap. However, in true NUFC fashion, it'll happen the hard way but it will happen.

Just watched the game - recorded it last night as I couldn't watch live.
Jeez, we do seem to play better in "big" matches. Thought we'd get a pasting after the mid-week trip, but ended up unlucky not to get a point. Hell, if we'd played some of our earlier season games like we did in the 2nd half then no way we'd be anywhere near as low as 10th. A bit frustrating. Not unlike Elanga. Was he really 55 million? Keep waiting for him to hit his straps but I'm definitely now thinking that it ain't going to happen

Correct! Bernardo Silva's foul on BDB was a 2nd yellow. Not given.

(During a standard professional match using the Video Assistant Referee system, there are typically two to four video match officials (VMOs) in the VAR room. The specific number varies depending on the competition's level and protocol)

The 4 on-field PGMOL team and the muppets in the 2-4 VAR mongs in the Box at Stockley park don't know the rules of the game. You know, their SOLE PURPOSE FOR BEING IN THE POSITION THEY ARE, THE REASON THEY ARE PAID AS PROFESSIONALS.

How do they not know - Rules 11 & 12?

Under Law 11 (Offside) and Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct) of the International Football Association Board, a player cannot be penalised for offside if they were pushed there by an opponent.

                              How referees handle it

If a defender pushes or holds an attacker, causing them to move into an offside position, the referee should:
                              1. Penalise the push/hold (a foul under Law 12), and
                              2. Restart with a direct free kick (or a penalty kick if it occurred inside the defender?s penalty area).

The offside offence would not be given because:

                              * Offside position is judged at the moment a teammate plays the ball.
                              * If the attacker?s position resulted from a foul, the foul takes priority.

                              This is basic.

Either they knew it and ruled the goal to stop NUFC from competing - Corruption

                              or

The 8 professionals don't know the rules to the game which they are paid to administer - Incompetence

Either way all 8 should be suspended until they can be retrained over the summer and should be no where near the professional game for making such an incredibly basic mistake.

                              Shameful.

The refs should udergo a test each month on the more obscure rules of the game. If they dont get them all right then they dont ref games and they dont get paid.
