  • Europe next season, Yes or No?

    Do you want it?
    Europa league or Conference?

    I’d say yes.
Even if its only Conference. Maybe even more Conference.

    1) The team have to get used to play twice a week.
    2) higher chance of winning it comparing to Europa
    3) Champions League qualification next season is *****, so the first team have to concentrate on the Premier League. I dont think Europa League provide that much flexibility. But its tricky one too. Winning Europa gets you CL spot, so if things go south in PL, there is another chance there.
    4) collecting points to UEFA club coefficient tally gives bigger share in money distribution (I guess)

We would have a great chance of winning the Conference but the way things are looking even 7th is looking tricky.

We need to have some sort of Europe really.

Without it, I think it puts a year of movement on the backburning.

Any Europe helps raise profile and co-efficancy points. I also think we'd have a good chance of winning Europa League or Conference League

So yes, I want it and yes whatever competition we can get.

To be honest, now Eddie has time on the training pitch and 3 week break after mackem game, I expect to see us all guns blazing for the final games of the season.

I would say yes but atm my confidence in the team to qualify is wavering. I can only hope. loads of talk about Tonali/Live/Bruno /Gordon leaving. We need them for another season,

So far the nonsense machine has the follwing people linked with moves away from the club.

Bruno, Sandro, Botman, Woltemade, Tino, Hall & Gordon.

Trippier is on the outs with his contract expiring. Ramsdale's Loan deal up, John Ruddy and Mark Gillespie both out of contract, Krafthacurta also gone. Willock has been linked with a move back to a London club, Osula to Germany.

That reduces the senior squad to 10 players : Not even a full first 11 lol

Pope, Thaiw, Burn, JJ, Miley, Joelitino, Barnes, Wissa, Murphy & Elanga.

The levels of Horse Sh!te is laughable. I do hope no one is taking any of these reports in the click-bait-o-sphere seriously.

This summer the club needs to sign 4-5 players base on the current squad without losing the players highlighted in bold text.

Getting that kind of business done is a huge challenge. 5 + the gossip mong's rumoured 7 = 12 players of top top quality is virtually impossible.

Tonali, contracted until 2030, has been publicly quoted as saying he wants to join the leadership group next season, why make that comment if you plan to leave? The rat didn't commit to No.9 talk when interviewed by Shearer. As much as the player is despised, in retrospect the writing was on the wall.

Furthermore, there is only 1 club Real Madrid that offers Tonali a culturally similar environment to Italy that can afford hs transfer.

Even the Agent's mouth piece, Romano has made it clear that Newcastle United are horrible to do business with citing last seasons Rat - Bindip saga.

Captain & Geordinho in chief, Bruno, is getting a new contact. Again see Tonali comments on who can afford him and who the club would sell him to. Bruno for all 'football is about the money' does appear to be a man of integrity. He genuinely appears to love the city. His, dad more so!

Gordon could go, I dunno if Trossard's mooted summer exit from Arsenal could see them move for the Scouser. After the no show v Barcelona - Anonymous Gordon, I'd not gonna cry if he does go. As a full England international and a starting 11 player he's all of 100m quid. If the offer is put on the table the club can find excellent alternatives who will return similar or better numbers.

Tino Liveramento - Played 102, Goals 1, Assists 2. Great athlete but injuries and lack of output lead me to conclude that again for a 75-80m offer would mean I'm not gonna cry over it.

Hall, can not leave. Under any circumstances. The lad is genuinely WORLD WORLD CLASS. He needs tied down to a contract for the rest of his career. The club simply can not lose that talent.

8 games 24 points all to play for.

The players need to man up and prove they are as good as they think they are.

Everything is possible, Europa League is probable, however, that is on the understanding that the players do their job and win matches.

Opta Analyst Prediction have 5-8th places finishing with 62, 60, 56, 54 points respectively.
So this is 12-20 points depending on what position you aim for

We'd have to presume that the target is 5th.

                All to play for!

                HOWAY THE LADS!

Not the Conference League for me, thanks.

All the drawbacks of playing in Europe but with very few of the benefits. Raising our profile, attracting players,,,the Conference League won't do that but it will bring the injuries, fatigue and lack of training time.

Latest info on the extra CL place has the prem only needing 1 club of the remaining 5 to get 1 draw or more, from their games to guarentee an extra CL spot - which will then push European spots down.

If a CL club wins FA Cup and 4 of the remain clubs are in that position, it pushes the Europe League spot down a place as well.

5th place has to be the target. No distractions else where, plenty of time on the training ground between matches the other side of the Derby.

I'm confident we'll see the team perform better which leaves me optimistic that they'll get it a bloody good go

It would be great to get in to the Europa league, actually think it is very winnable for us.

If it is the conference league, it gives the chance to blend some of the youth into our competitive matches, so I can see the benefit.

But it is going to mean far flung trips to countries I did not even know existed 🤣

I completely agree with you Guy.

The weakness of opposition in the Conference would mean the squad would play and the first team 11 probably wouldn't even travel to away days.

You can't see Bruno or Tonali needed to play against the Maltese Power house Hamrun Spartans FC or the mighty SK Sigma Olomouc of Czechia two of the Conference league stalwarts.

Astonishingly Palace managed to finish 10th and fail to qualify for the KO stages.

What a pointless nonsense club the plastic Londoners truly are.

Aston Villa currently sit fourth in the Premier League table while Liverpool are two points behind them in fifth and Chelsea are a further point behind in sixth.

Villa are favourites to win the Europa League this season, which also grants a Champions League qualification spot. Should Unai Emery?s side win the Europa League but drop to fifth, sixth place would be granted Champions League qualification through the European Performance Spot.

If Liverpool and Villa were to finish fifth or sixth and win the Champions League and Europa League respectively, then seventh place would be granted Champions League qualification through the European Performance spot.

Could end up with 10 teams from England in Europe next season.
